How to Write the Best Blog

  1. 1. How to Write the Best Blog
  2. 2. Put Your Self-Analysis Hats On  Your blogging journey begins by choosing the topic of your blog. However, this also happens to be one of the most challenging aspects of building a successful blog.  So, needless to say, that you cannot afford to make a mistake in this part. It’s a real make or break for most bloggers I’ve seen. Thus, to realise how you can make the right decision, you must know where most people go wrong. 2
  3. 3. What if you still have no idea? The Ikigai way: My initial suggestion is to make a list of your passions, skills, education, experiences and hobbies and then use this list to arrive at the topic of your preference. Ideally, you should be able to find a topic that is an overlap of the aforementioned. But if you have no luck with that, I suggest you follow the principle of Ikigai – a Japanese word that translates to “a reason for being”. 3

  5. 5. The 3 elements of Niche:  For a blog to connect with its readers, its content has to be unique. And by unique, I mean the style, knowledge and research behind curating the blog should be such that your audience can’t find the same combination anywhere else.  The niche of your blog is defined as the topic (or range of issues) that you will be writing about. It determines the kind of audience that your blog will allure, thus playing a significant role in its success. 5
  6. 6. Niche of your blog comprises of 3 essential ingredients: What 6 How Who
  7. 7. 3 essential ingredients  THE WHO: This determines the audience you are targeting.  THE WHAT: This emphasises on what specific results your target audience will get by reading your blogs.  THE HOW: This figures out the solution that you offer through your blog so that your readers can obtain their desired results. 7

  9. 9. Broad Niche Vs Narrow Niche: The Ultimate Trade-off  Once you have determined what niche you prefer and understand its constituent elements, it is now time to determine if you should go for a broad niche or a specific one.  You should be able to figure out whether too specific a niche limits your creativity, or too broad a niche overwhelms your blogging process. 9
  10. 10. Broad Niche Vs Narrow Niche: The Ultimate Trade-off 10
  11. 11. Niche  Broad niche can cater to a more extensive audience base, a narrow niche can guarantee a greater loyalty from the limited readers.  Narrower niches also guarantee lesser competition. However, this is often at the expense of greater difficulty to create content and monetize it.  This follows the fact that the number of blogs available on the internet on a particular topic tends to decrease as your niche becomes narrower in scope. 11
  12. 12. Write Insightful Blog Posts: Quality Over Quantity 12 1 3 4 2 Keep your readers hooked. Keep improving Not too much, not too little. Sprinkle the creativity
  13. 13. Get The Word Out: The Encouragement One of the best encouragements a blogger can get is an ever- increasing readers’ list. It keeps you going with the urge of self- improvement and helps you stay consistent. While it is vital to increase your reader base to enhance your reach, it is also essential to retain your existing readers. While this might seem like an easy task, it can involve a lot of optimisation for better results. For instance, you can enhance your Call to Action (CTA) or experiment with the impact of the language you use while asking your readers to subscribe to your newsletter. 13
  14. 14. “ Content marketing costs lesser than most marketing techniques and still generates 3 times better results! 14
