History of CNG in the UK
• 100+ Daily vehicles sold between late 90’s and 2004
• 10 Eurotech vehicles sold between 2000 and 2006
• Major problems with reliability forced stop of sales.
• Issues
– Water in gas from low pressure gas mains
– Dealers unable to support

CNG in the rest of Europe
• 4000 Daily CNG built since late ’90s. 1500 with new F1 engine. Current volume
circa 1000 per annum.
• 1000 Eurotech since mid ’90s and 400 Stralis with Cursor
• Eurocargo CNG shown at IAA Hannover will be available from mid 2009
• DHL in Netherlands running 60 Daily vehicles with no significant problems – fast
fill system
• Conclusion is that CNG vehicles work well when gas supply is good

Today
• 1 vehicle successfully completed trial with Veolia with Camden Council in
partnership with Gasrec supplier of Bio Methane and Cenex
• Vehicle entered service in Oct 2008 and was maintained by Stormont
• 6 months ( approx 7,000Km) ended in April 2009
• Gasrec appointed as Iveco’s preferred supplier of Bio Methane

• Daily CNG is exempt from the London Congestion Charge.
• Daily CNG meets already the proposed Euro VI limits. This means that today’s technology
will remain appropriate for the next decade.
• Therefore the future access to down-town areas and city centres will be ensured.
