 Mandi is owned & runs under the rules of
municipality since 1979.
 Mandi covers surrounding area of Sukkur region.
 Mandi is the focus point for not only Sukkur but
also interior Sindh.

 Some commodities such as Tomato, Potato & Onion
attracts the traders of Punjab province.
 Sindh Produce Market Act 1939 amended in 2010,
on 15th September 2013
 Part of the Local Government responsible to provide
the welfare to the common man.

 Responsibilities are:
 Security to the wholesalers and the customers
 Auctions Plots
 Cleaning and sanitation work
 Generally known as (AARTI), having shops called
UNIT.
 Commission agent sells that commodity through
open auctions
 Farmers or grower contact any commission agents for
selling his commodity
 94 authorized commission agents
 Registered with Securities Exchange Commission of
Pakistan (S.E.C.P)
 26 Non authorized commission agents
 Responsibilities are:
 Responsible to provide the moral and social support to
members in case of any fraud, illegal activity practice by any
member or any outsider trader.
 Also performs all the duties of municipality especially
cleaning and security, in absence of municipality facilitation.
 Mandi union elected through general body election
voted by authorized Commission Agents.

Governing Body is also formed to ensure the operations of
the mandi union, it contains three members known as board
of governors selected from the mandi members on the basis
of seniority, experience & social respect in the market & out
of the market too.

o Punjab (Sahiwal, Diska, Chiniot)

o Stored up to April.

Potato’s local supplier are:
Hyderabad, Moro, Dolatpur, Sanghar, Sukkur
Districts.

Onion’s current suppliers are:
Hyderabad, Moro, Dolatpur, and Sanghar

Sukkur, Larkana and Shikarpur (Chilka) Districts.
o Tomato’s current suppliers are:
Dera Murad Jamali (Balochistan)

Swat, Abbottabad and Northern area.
o India is also supply their tomato’s to Pakistan

 The bidding system of vegetable market starts from

the call for bidding by the commission agent
(AARTI) when a bulk quantity of any single
commodity comes to him for sales.
 The first rate is opened by the AARTI, then the
bidding goes on by increasing the rates by the buyer.

  • 4.  Mandi is owned & runs under the rules of municipality since 1979.  Mandi covers surrounding area of Sukkur region.  Mandi is the focus point for not only Sukkur but also interior Sindh.  Some commodities such as Tomato, Potato & Onion attracts the traders of Punjab province.  Sindh Produce Market Act 1939 amended in 2010, on 15th September 2013
