name.
The brand or proprietary name given by the company who

expectorants
3. Kills bacteria cause
respiratory infections
The word antibiotic comes
from the Greek
Anti-against
Bio-life
Antibiotics are also known as
antibacterial.
Antibiotics target
microorganisms such as
bacteria, fungi and parasites.
They are not effective against
viruses.
The first antibiotic was penicillin.
4. Blocks the effects of
histamine that has been
released by the body
during an allergy attack.
Antihistamines do not
stop the formation of
histamine nor do they
stop the conflict between
anibodies and antigen.
Therefore, antihistamines
do not stop the allergic
reaction but protect
tissues from some of its
effects.
5. Improves the ability to
cough up mucus from the
respiratory tract
Cough expectorants help
loosen the mucus so that
when you do cough, it can
be more productive.
Works by signaling the
body to increase the
amount or hydration of
secretions, resulting in
more yet clearer secretions
and as a byproduct
lubricating the irritated
respiratory tract.
