The metropolitan city of Bangalore has its share of Brain train, Brain drains and Return Brains. If you are
wondering what I mean, it’s the return to India of NRIs in recent years due to the culture and family
calling them back and wanting to be in the midst of a booming economy. Schools catering to them as well
as the expat community here and also those who wish to see their wards in an international environment
have a wide choice here. Of late many schools have been branding themselves “International”. But
whether they have a truly International environment is a question in the school seekers mind.
Trio World School
The infrastructure companies MCN are the promoters of this British International School. The school has
staff drawn locally and from abroad. The school has an international curriculum only adhering to IGCSE
and A level exams till grade 12. The National Curriculum of England is followed for primary and
secondary grades. They also have a special needs support system for children with learning difficulties
and dyslexia and dyspraxia.
Bangalore International School
American Community School as it was formerly known as, was started way back in 1969 for American
expats. BIS, in short, is affiliated and center for the Cambridge International Exams for O and A Levels
and choice of IB Diploma programmes.The school is divided into four sections: Early years, Elementary,
Middle and High School.Early years follow their own curriculum. Cambridge International Primary
Programme (CIPP) is implemented from UKG till Grade 6. Students also do the Cambridge University

about 35 countries and expats comprise the staff.CIS is an overseas inspected private school, authorized

School Certificate. Each year an Education Officer from the Ministry spends a week at CIS to evaluate
procedures and practices to ensure compliance with standards set in Canada.
