2. RANDOM EXPERIMENTS
An random experiments is an process which produces
outcomes.
If we toss a fair coin we may obtain either a head or a
tail so, tossing this fair coin is an experiment which can
produce two out comes, either head or tail.

3. EVENTS
 An event is the outcome of an experiment.
Formally, any subset of the sample space is an event.
Any event which consists of a single outcome in the
sample space is called an elementary or simple event.
Events which consist of more than one outcome are
called compound events.
If the experiment is to roll a die, an event can be
defined
as obtaining a (1,2,3,4,5,6) an the upper face of the
dice.

4. SAMPLE SPACE
Sample space is a set of all possible outcomes of an
experiment. It’s denoted by S.
If a single die rolling experiment, The sample space
will be –
S = {1,2,3,4,5,6}
Experiment Tossing a coin:
Sample space S = {Heads, Tails}
