1. How did you use new
Q4
media technologies in the
construction and research,
planning and evaluation
stages?

2. o When creating our Documentary extract me and my group did prior
research which consisted of analysing other similar texts, for example An
Inconvenient Truth, The Blue Planet, Hells Angels, The Human Mannequin
etc. This was done using websites such as YouTube, Internet Movie
Database etc as well as Television itself.
o We also looked at other websites when producing our Print Work, once
known as the Newspaper Marketing Agency Website and is now currently
known as News Works, that allowed us to compare existing Print Work.

3. o After using the websites aforementioned we were able to gain an insight
in to what aspects/ styles we liked about certain documentaries which
we could use and others that we could possibly use and alter, as well as
ones that we would not use. For example we chose to directly use a
Presenter, however he also did the Voice Over too. Yet we did not use
multiple Experts in our area of interest. Planning also occurred through
watching documentaries on the Television which is also a media
technology.
o One website in particular which help
aid the pre production as well as the
entire production right up until the end
was Wordpress (Shown to the left of
the page). This website is free and
simplistic, however was able to
document our progress along with
corrections and in particular was an
Audience Feedback source.

4. o Channel 4 website was key in
production due to the fact
that it was our broadcaster
and gave us an insight on to
the sort of Documentaries
which were already existing,
along with the Style Guide
(Shown to the left of the
page) that allowed me to
know how their advertising
works. For example the
Channel 4 logo has to be
centered towards the right of
the page (Shown on Slide 5.)

5. o One media technology/programme in particular that has helped me when
I was editing and creating the Newspaper Article Advertising Banner was
PhotoPlus. This software was simple yet effective and allowed me to
create the finished printwork (Shown below.)
Could copy and paste text from the Channel 4 Was able to replicate an
Style Guide using the correct font and then image and edit it using the
alter the colour of the image using the Image Hue/Saturation option on
option and clicking Negative, then creating the Effects menu, thus
two rectangle shapes and colouring them red allowing a darker image
and placing them behind the text- creating the which looks like a shadow.

6. o Other media technologies which have helped aid my evaluation have
been PowerPoint (Shown below) which was then converted in Slideshare
so that it is compatible with Wordpress and the blog. As well as Microsoft
Word whereby I was able to create answers in a text format and copy
them over to Wordpress easily. Also Vimeo which enabled the video
recorded to answer Question 2 and the Rough Cut/Final Version of our
actual product to be integrated within the blog on Wordpress.
