Praise be to Allah Cheating is haraam, whether it is in buying and selling, or in exams, or any other matter, because of the general meaning of the words of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him): “Whoever cheats is not one of us.”Narrated by Muslim, 102 from the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Cheating in exams is forbidden; in fact it is a major sin, especially since this cheating will lead to a number of things in the future, it will affect the person’s salary and position, and other things that are needed in order to succeed.
