of Dihydrogen
i. It is prepared by the
reaction of granulated zinc
with dilute hydrochloric acid.

4. Ex: Zn +HCl ZnCl2+H2

5. ii. Other laboratory
method is by the action
of metals like Zn, Al on
strong alkalis like NaOH
or KOH

6. Ex:Zn+2NaOH Na2ZnO2+H2

Dihydrogen
i.Treat a ribbon of Mg with dilute H2SO4
Mg(s)+dil H2SO4 MgSO4(aq)+H2(g)

8. ii. Pure Dihydrogen can
also be produced by
electrolyzing a warm
solution of Ba(OH)2
using inert electrodes.

9. iii. Also by oxidation of
NaH by water.
