family .
In other words international understanding indicates love,
sympathy, cooperation ,among people of all nations of world.
ACCORDING TO GOLD SMITH,” International understanding
Or internationalism as a feeling that the individual is only a member
of his state , but a citizen of the world,”.
ACCORDING TO A.M MISHRA ,”International understanding refers
to friendship and harmony against different nations of world and
also includes cooperation amongst them-each one maintaining its
identity and sovereinty as usual,”.

Education for international understanding is essential for peace , love ,
cooperation etc. This is an education based on the idea of mankind .this
kind of education promotes ,”understanding ,tolerance and friendship
among all nations ,race and religions.
A)WHY EDUCATION FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING?
Education for international understanding is vital need of present
generations for following chief reasons:
 1.To counteract wrong emphasis on ,” My country ,right or wrong,”.
 2.To emphasis interdependence and good relationship of human race.
 3.To educate democratic ideals
B) RACE AND POSSIBILITIES OF EDUCATION FOR INTERNATIONAL
UNDERSTANDING
1.Education of right of people.
2.Maintainance of peace.
3.Action to ensure this exercise and observation of human rights.
4.Fight for better quality of life.

C) EDUCATION FOR PEACE AND INTERNATIONAL

Peace education strengthens communications of minds and hearts .it
increases global awareness and cooperation in ways of peace.

Education for world understanding is the major responsibility of
educational institutions for simple reason that most important years of
human life when attitudes are developed are spent within school or
college boundaries.
The following programme of education for international understanding
may be organized keeping in view the points highlighted below:
A)REDESIGNING THE CURRICULUM
The redesigned curriculum should enable our students :
1. To learn the earth is home of man and other living things .
2. To inculcate respect for all religions of the world.
3. To learn how to promote better understanding of the interdependence
of people of world.
B) INSTRUCTION IN VARIOUS SCHOOL SUBJECTS
All the subjects should have a social content ,learning the pupils from
national to international interdependence.
C) SCHOOL CURRICULUM ACTIVITIES
1. Celebrating international week and independence days of other
countries.
2. Inviting foreign scholars .
3. Organizing and running international clubs.
4. Celebrating anniversaries of great man in the world
D) FACE TO FACE CONTACT
1.International camps.
2.Cultural and study tours.
3.Exchange of students and teachers among different countries.
4.Institution of international character.
E) ROLE OF TEACHER
1.Broad outlook
2.To understand man as man
3.Wedding out idea of violence and war
4.Emphasizing peace .
5.Cultivating right values .
6.Educating adult society.

In today’s modern world education has an important role in everyone’s life
. It teaches individuals how to build a culture and peace and spread peace
by forming relations with the people .
Education is the difference maker and only it can bring the change in the
behaviour and personality.
CONCEPT OF PEACE
Peace education is presented in three ways
Three main concepts are :
1.Absent of war
2. Peace of mind
3.Salvation from exploitation and give justice
MEANING OF PEACE EDUCATION
Peace education is the science which studies the moral necessities of human
in which these requirements are fulfilled .This education or science makes
the people aware about human rights peace education is that education
that forms a non- exploitative , non violent and just society.
ACC TO K.S VASVARAJ,” peace education is a program and a process which
develops the feeling to appreciate the value of peace and feeling of
intelligence in youth . This is the preparation for establishing the just ,
systematic and coordinating society”.
ACC TO ALBERT EINSTEIN ,” peace is not merely the absence of war but the
presence of justice ,of law of order, in short of , government.”
 To bring good changes for making the
world a place of humanity.
 To make the students aware to spread
peace in global society .
To modify the behaviour at global
level to remove war situations .
To promote positive human relations .

 Education is the key to uniting nations and removing conflicts by
providing information to children.

Peace education is a combined education focusing on rights , democracy,
international understanding ,non violence ,etc .all these values must be
conveyed in institutions . students should must be given , all the
activities which promote cooperation , coordination, among students.
TRAINING
The training of every member of curriculum is crucial. Education
promotes the development of whole person so that he/she can be act as
a role model in the society in a caring and responsible manner.
SCHOOL TO BE SAFE AND SECURE
School should be safe and secure to enhance the learning among the
students
Education and peace are both sides of a same coin
they both can not be seperated from each other .
1. End of barbaric tendencies .
2. Knowledge of consequences of drastic events.

Education is the difference maker and only it can bring the change in the behaviour and personality. CONCEPT OF PEACE Peace education is presented in three ways

Peace of mind 3.Salvation from exploitation and give justice MEANING OF PEACE EDUCATION Peace education is the science which studies the moral necessities of human in which these requirements are fulfilled .This education or science makes the people aware about human rights peace education is that education that forms a non- exploitative , non violent and just society. ACC TO K.S VASVARAJ,” peace education is a program and a process which develops the feeling to appreciate the value of peace and feeling of intelligence in youth . This is the preparation for establishing the just , systematic and coordinating society”. ACC TO ALBERT EINSTEIN ,” peace is not merely the absence of war but the presence of justice ,of law of order, in short of , government.”
