George Andrew Romero was born on 4 February 1940 is an American-
Canadian filmmaker and editor, best known for his series of gruesome
and satirical horror films about a hypothetical zombie apocalypse,
beginning with Night of the Living Dead (1968). Romero
attended Pittsburgh's Carnegie Mellon University. After graduating in
1960, he began his career shooting short films and commercials. One of
his early commercial films was a segment for Mister Rogers'
Neighborhood.
