  1. 1. Intro Dropbox is a cloud storage service operated by American company Dropbox Inc. Dropbox is a File Hosting Service that offers Cloud Storage, File Synchronization, and Client software. Dropbox allows users to create a special folder on each of their computers, which Dropbox then synchronizes so that it appears to be the same folder (with the same contents) regardless of which computer is used to view it. Files placed in this folder also are accessible through a website and mobile phone applications.

  3. 3. • Dropbox founder Drew Houston conceived the Dropbox concept after repeatedly forgetting his USB flash drive while he was a student at MIT. • began making something for his personal use, but then realized that it could benefit others with the same problems. • Houston founded Dropbox, Inc. in June 2007, and shortly thereafter secured seed funding from Y Combinator. • Dropbox's official domain name was "getdropbox.com" until October 2009, when it acquired its current domain, "dropbox.com".

They can be viewed in the browser, but you can't edit them online. • Dropbox offers sharing directly from its desktop app. • Dropbox has a slight upper-hand, as it's also compatible on Linux and Blackberry. • Dropbox offers a similar two-step verification feature, where you must submit your password in addition to a six-digit security code in order to sign in. • Google Drive offers 5GB for free. • Google Drive supports up to 30 different file types, all of which you can open directly within your Web browser. • Drive only allows you to share through its Web app • services are available on iOS, Windows, Mac, and Android devices. • Since Drive links to your Gmail account, you can enable two-step authentication.
