12. What is the BodyTalk System?
Let’s balance out our Cortices.
Demonstrate a session.
13. What is the BodyTalk System?
Based on Ancient Wisdom traditions
of energy medicine, especially
Traditional Chinese Medicine, and
Western medicine wisdom.
It is a system that improves the flow
of energy by balancing out the
Conscious states of the Bodymind
Complex.
14. What is Energy Medicine?
Techniques to improve the flow of
energy (called Chi or Qi) and the
ability to cultivate energy in order for
the body to heal on its own.
Examples of techniques/healing modalities:
Massage, Acupuncture, Chiropractic Care,
Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Breathing exercises,
Mindful Meditation, Healing Touch, Reiki,
Brain Gym and The BodyTalk System
15. What is Consciousness?
The flow of intelligence or awareness.
Everything is Energy (Qi).
All there is, is Energy (Qi).
Everything is Consciousness.
All there is, is Consciousness.
16. What is Energy/Consciousness Medicine?
YIN YANG
Calm Active
Cooling Warming
Feminine Masculine
Dynamic interaction
Transient states of being
Nothing is static
17. What is Energy/Consciousness Medicine?
In the BodyTalk System, a practitioner does not give a
diagnosis.
i.e. Inflammation: too much heat – not enough
cooling (a Yin/Yang imbalance or simply put, an
energy imbalance)
i.e. arthritis (joint inflammation)
i.e. angry/aggressive/inflamed behavior
i.e. Depression: could be not enough Yang
energy (an energy imbalance)
18. What is the BodyTalk System?
The Goal of a BodyTalk session or
sessions is to restore the Yin/Yang
balance or to restore the body back
into a balanced state so that it can
resume its daily job of healing and
circulate the Qi properly.
Demonstrate another session.
19. How do we replenish our Qi (energy)?
Eating food
Exercising
Drinking water
Sleeping
Breathing
Nurturing & loving relationships
20. How do we replenish our Qi (energy)?
Would you check YES to anything below?
Poor digestion (bloating, acid reflux,
loose stools, constipation, etc.)
Don’t drink water (drink coffee, tea, sodas)
Don’t exercise
Don’t sleep well (insomnia, wake up tired)
Restricted breathing
Stressful relationships
21. How do we replenish our Qi (energy)?
Most of us are Qi deficient because our
systems are running inefficiently.
The goal with a BodyTalk session is to
restore the balance to the entire
BodyMind Complex so that it can run
efficiently and effectively. This is done
by addressing the Conscious and
Unconscious aspects within the person.
22. What is the BodyTalk System?
Why do we have trouble healing naturally?
Living life the way we live it. (Fast and Furious)
Our perceptions of events.
Our internal beliefs about how life should be.
Our emotions that are not fully processed.
Our past experiences.
Our genetic history.
Etc.
23. What is the BodyTalk System?
The BodyTalk System is:
• Consciousness Based HealthCare
• Working with the part of us that is
unconscious (the subconscious)
• Becoming more conscious
• Becoming more aware
• Healing from the Inside Out
24. What is The BodyTalk System?
The BodyTalk System is a comprehensive
system of non-invasive techniques designed to
re-establish healthy communication (‘harmony’)
within the body systems.
• Comprehensive • Non-invasive
• Simple • Safe
• Effective
25. Think of an orchestra. It can produce
beautiful music only if all the musicians
tune their instruments and then coordinate
the timing of their playing.
26. What is the BodyTalk System?
Poor Health is an indication that the
body’s innate (natural) ability to heal
itself is compromised (‘out of tune’)
due to imbalances caused by stresses
from daily living.

28. What is the BodyTalk System?
Most of us have an energy
imbalance in our Nervous System.
This creates our symptoms that get
labeled as dis-eases or illnesses.
We are stuck in chronic fight/flight
mode and are simply coping with
daily living.
29. Daily living can be stressful
Stress distorts the
nervous system’s
function. The nerves
respond to stressful
situations:
physical injury
severe illness
emotional trauma
financial stress
overworked
poor nutrition
relationships

31. BodyTalk and Stress
Repeated BodyTalk makes us less

Teaching Notes:Example: a cutIf we cut ourselves, the body immediately sets up a process to start healing the wound. This healing process occurs at all levels – physical, emotional, and mental. There are times when the body fails to do that job. The problem facing the body lies in the way our life- styles, culture, and technology have interfered with its natural innate processes, compromising the communication networks that normally enable it to coordinate the billions of synchronized activities per second necessary to maintain optimum health. This compromise in communication is what leads to imbalances in the body’s systems and, eventually, surfaces as symptoms and illnesses. In BodyTalk, we work with the innate wisdom to re-establish the communication network between the physical parts and physiological processes of the body so that the innate healing ability is able to do its job once more.Page 8
Teaching NotesA successful strategy for teaching the five techniques.Show the first technique and teach people how to do it on themselves and then on others. When the second technique is taught, the students do the first and second technique in sequence and so on. This builds through out the day so by the end of the day, they are reasonably comfortable doing the entire sequence of all 5 Access techniques.
Teaching Notes:The cortices are made up of the frontal, parietal, occipital and temporal lobes of the brain.Balancing the cortices balances the whole bodymind complex.Page 14
Recommendations:Orchestra analogy – Think of an orchestra. It can produce beautiful music only if all the musicians tune their instruments and then coordinate the timing of their playing. The conductor is responsible for ensuring that everyone is playing together harmoniously, to the same pitch and tempo. So it is with the body. Good health can only be achieved when all the body parts and systems are functioning properly and then their activities are synchronized. That is the role of the innate wisdom of the body. Page 4 Teaching Notes:So just what is BodyTalk?- A health care modality that helps the body rebalance its systems for improved health. It addresses the body in a truly integrative, holistic way.The BodyTalk System is: comprehensive, (extensive protocol) simple, (to implement) effective, (gets results) non-evasive (light touch or no touch) safe (cannot harm)Page 4BodyTalk is a comprehensive system of non-invasive techniques designed to re-establish healthy communication within the body systems. It incorporates state-of-the-art science and philosophy to help the body unlearn the habits, beliefs, biochemical pathways and postural patterns that are restricting the healthy functioning of the bodymind complex.
