In Preparation for the
Apprenticeship Levy –What does
HR/L&D & Finance need to do?
(1) Confirming how much their levy
contribution is going to be.
(2) Understanding how their staff breakdown
across the UK will impact on levy contribution
and what is accessible via the English
Apprenticeship Service account.
(3) Confirming if their current apprenticeship
provision will all be eligible for funding from
the levy.
(4) Looking at options to expand their current
apprenticeship programmes they offer.
(5) Looking at what, within their current L&D
budget, could be delivered through an
apprenticeship.
(6) Looking at their current workforce to see
who would be eligible to receive
apprenticeship training.
(7) Looking at how they can use their levy in their
supply chain or other organisations.
(8) Looking at the option of becoming a
Registered Employer Training Provider.
(9) Analysing skills gaps, future skills needs and
‘hard to fill’ vacancies, to see how
apprenticeships could be used as part of a wider
Strategic Workforce Plan to tackle these
business issues.
(10) Build and grow their Apprenticeship
Strategy.
