2. The learning in detail
Innovation in Action delivers instant change through
a defined workplace project. During the course your
employees will need to complete a real business issue
project, changing something about the way your
business operates. This can be any issue that would
improve your business. It might be processes, products,
communications, people, finding new markets, marketing,
sales, business model generation or your customer
service. Working on a real business issue or opportunity
helps to embed the learning. With no substitute for
practical hands on experience as a platform for learning,
this takes the learning out of theory and straight to real
world action and also gives you instant results.
There are no essays. The style of learning is experiential and
action oriented. Assessment is achieved by assignments.
These will require your employees to capture, in small
chunks, what they have learned and what they have done.
Progression
If accreditation is important, you have the option to
extend the course with one additional workshop, which
will result in a nationally recognised qualification.
How much time do workers need to
be released for and commit to?
Innovation in Action consists of four full day workshops,
with online support to keep the learning on track.
Your employees will need to complete follow-up work
between workshops for planning, delivering and
reviewing the project. How much assigned learning is
completed at work or in the learners’ own time must be
agreed between you and your employee. You will also
need to allow time for project activity which is beyond
the employee’s regular duties.
