1. HARD COATING :
• Hard coating provides the glass best scratch resistance and
• most durable ingredient for a Anti reflection coating
• Most common types of hard coating are :
• 1.Thermally cured dip hard coating
2.U.V cured hard coating
• 1. Thermally curved dip hard coating :
in this coating the lens is slowly made to pass through
liquid bath of a solvent based hard coat where the coating
2. solution adheres to both convex and concave sides of the lens.
• 2.U.V cured hard coating :
A liquid hard coat solution is applied to the concave slide of
the lens using a process . lenses are then curved under a uv
light for a specific amount of time.
3. SMUDGE RESISTANT COATING :
• smudge resistant coating done to protect the glasses from
• smudge such as oil , dirt , fingerprint etc..,
• smudge free coating improves the coating durability
• smudge resistant acts as scratch resistance to the glasses
4. Anti fog coating :
• Anti fog coating is used to prevent the condensation of water
in the form of small droplets on a surface which resembles fog
• This coating works either by the application of a surfactant film
• or by creating a hydrophilic surface
• lens fogging is caused by when the lenses are significantly cooler than
the surrounding air temperature . so, to avoid fog of lens we use anti
fog coating
5. Crizal prevencia :
• crizal prevencia glasses are glare , smudge ,scratch ,uv ,water
resistance
• Recently studies say that the blue- violent light is being harmful to
• harmful to retinal cells it accerlates the onset of age related macular
degeneration . (amd)
• crizal prevencia is blue violent light resistance
