Delhi-Mumbai Intergraded Corridor
03/31/17
Along with this corridor New City plan is also
implemented.

It also includes development of all means of
transportation renewing or establishing of
airports and seaports.
Building and Expansion of roadways and rail
network.
It is also planning to provide 10 lane
highways.

Gujarat International Finance Tech City
[ G I F T ]
03/31/17
GIFT is under construction city in Indian state of
Gujarat which is about 12 km from Ahmadabad.
It will be built on 500 acres of land.
Its main purpose is to provide high quality of
infrastructure.
GIFT aims to providing transportation network having
Accessibility, Easy & Fast mobility, Zero road accidental deaths
This can achieved by
Using a multimodal mix transport systems ( MRTS/LRTS/BRT)
Using walk to work concept
Using electric personal rapid transport systems

20 Smart cities of INDIA
03/31/17
20 cities which are selected at first stage.
Smart city mission strategy
These cities improved by Area base
development.
Three modules of Area Based Development are
o Retrofitting

03/31/17
Area Based Development Models
 Retrofitting
Development of an existing built area greater than 500 acres so as to achieve
the objective of smart cities mission to make it more efficient and livable
e.g. Local Area Development (Ahmadabad)
 Redevelopment
Replace existing built environment in an area of more than 50 acres and
enable co-creation of a new layout, especially enhanced infrastructure,
mixed land use and increased density e.g. Bhendi Bazar, Mumbai
 Greenfield
Develop a previously vacant area of more than 250 acres using innovative
planning, plan financing and plan implementation tools with provision for
affordable housing, especially for the poor e.g. New Town, Kolkata, GIFT
City.
