Having a really hard time with factoring, not sure why... please help? Solve the Equation by Factoring: -6x - 2 = (3x + 1)2 and 7 - 7x = (4x + 9)(x - 1) Solution -6x - 2 = (3x + 1)2 -2(3x+1) = (3x+1) 2 3x+1( 2+2) = 0 3x+1 = 0 x = -1/3 xand 7 - 7x = (4x + 9)(x - 1) 7(1-x) = (4x+9)(x-1) 4x+9 = -7 4x = -7-9 = -16 x = -16/4 = -4 .

Solve the Equation by Factoring: -6x - 2 = (3x + 1)2 and 7 - 7x = (4x + 9)(x - 1) Solution -6x - 2 = (3x + 1)2 -2(3x+1) = (3x+1) 2 3x+1( 2+2) = 0 3x+1 = 0 x = -1/3 xand 7 - 7x = (4x + 9)(x - 1) 7(1-x) = (4x+9)(x-1) 4x+9 = -7 4x = -7-9 = -16 x = -16/4 = -4
