1998
In 1997, Linotype-Hell was acquired by Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG.
I continued as a trainer with the new company until 1999, when I accepted
a position as Senior Demonstrator in their US headquarters.
For the next four years I worked in a technical sales support role, providing
custom product demonstrations to executive-level buyers.
7. In late 2002 I left Heidelberg USA to join a friend at a mortgage brokerage.
It was a small company, which provided the opportunity to learn many
parts of the business, from marketing and sales to recordkeeping and
compliance.
100% of my income was from commission during this time.

8. In late 2005 I joined a small consulting company specializing in
business process mapping and modeling.
We were engaged to help a provincial economic development agency in
South Africa identify their internal areas of redundancy, and suggest ways
to reduce costs.
