                                        Remedial Instruction

    I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the student is expected to:
                    widen her word bank by finding out the meaning of the listed words;
note important and specific details from the letter; and,
compare and contrast ideas (that is Filipino and Korean Wedding) based on
                    the letter read.

    II. Subject Matter
                  Focus: Reading a Letter
                  Springboard: A friendly letter
Materials: Copy of the letter, a movie clip of traditional Korean wedding.

    III. Procedure
            A. Pre-reading
               1. Motivation
The teacher will ask the student if she had already witnessed a Filipino or a
Korean wedding. The teacher then will show a movie clip of a traditional Korean
               wedding.

                2. Vocabulary Development

The teacher will ask the student to answer the vocabulary exercise first.

Find out the meaning of each underlined word by choosing it from the set
of words below. Write your answer before each number.

(purifying, obligation, customary, practices, serious, controlled, furniture,
                        positive, supplying, body language)

                        1. The newlyweds were able to show their gifts to the elders though they
                           were constrained by time.
                        2. Following the practice of their ancestors, the couple wore the
                           traditionalwedding clothes.
                        3. Both sets of parents bought additional furnishings for the couple’s new
                           house.
                        4. Although the wedding is a festive celebration, the couple was
reminded to stay somber all throughout the rite.
