2. WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
Purpose
To fully equip and train all members on how to
properly package product.
Objective
Ensure our end product is protected and safe
during transport to the customer.
3. Work Instructions
Before packing anything into a box, you need to
read your work instructions. Packaging on a
product can change at any time. We may require
bags, different boxes, dividers, foam, trays, and
sometimes even water.
4. Placing Parts Into a Package
NEVER THROW OR DUMP PARTS INTO A
PACKAGE. THIS CAN CAUSE SCRATCHES,
NICKS, AND GOUGES.
PACK EACH BOX CAREFULLY USING
HANDFULS OF PARTS AND PLACING
THEM GENTLY INTO A BOX.
5. Stack Neatly
If stacking parts, stack neatly. If parts are not
neatly stacked, it can cause uneven pressure
and result in warping, scratches, or the
product can fall.
6. Do not force the package shut
If the package cannot close, check to ensure you have
the correct weight, or the correct packaging
instructions.
If everything is correct, try opening the box and
leveling out the parts by hand. You may also gently
shake the box to allow the parts to shift into a
flattened position.
Never pound on the top of a box or force it shut!
7. Do not force parts into a package
Tidy
If it does not fit, try tidying up the
box to ensure maximum room is
available
Recount
Recount or reweigh the product to
ensure you have the correct
amount going into the box
Ask
If it still does not fit, STOP and ask
for help. Never force parts into a
box
