3. Project: This project is going to introduce our Genre section of writing. We will start with the topics of Fantasy, Myth, Legend or Adventure.

6. Legends: DEFINITION: A traditional historical tale (or collection of related tales) popularly regarded as true but usually containing a mixture of fact and fiction.
7. THE LEGEND OF THE SLEEPING BEAR “Long ago a great famine had spread over the land. Longingly, a mother bear and two famished cubs walked the shore on the Wisconsin side, gazing wistfully across the great lake at Michigan, which in those days was the land of plenty. Finally hunger overcame their timidness and the bears launched out, trying to swim to Michigan. As they got closer and closer to the Michigan shore, the mother's words of encouragement urged on the weary cubs. Legends:
8. Legends Pt.2 When only twelve miles from the land of plenty, the mother's heart was rent as she saw a babe sink and drown. With the remaining cub she struggled to gain the beach. 16. Discussion: The answer is nothing, because this experiment is a Myth. It is said that if you mix the delicious popping candy, and a soda pop together, your stomach will explode. This myth has been put to the test many times, and has never harmed anybody. As you can see!
17. Myth Typically myths are those stories that are pass down by word of mouth. Many myths involve characters such as non-humans or use of Gods or monsters. Ex: Bed/closet monsters
18. Adventure: Ask yourself this… Does the main character scale large mountains, go on amazing adventures on land or at sea, overcome amazing obstacles, travel to never-before-seen places? It's action... it's adventure... and these authors offer unforgettable, pulse-bounding fiction and non-fiction literature?
