Why Gay Marriage Should Be Illegal
This paper will be fighting against gay marriage, and explaining why it is wrong. Why is it gay
marriage shouldn't be allowed in the U.S or any other country it is legal in? There are many
reasons why gay marriage should be illegal. Gay marriage should have never been made legal in
the U.S. Gay marriage should be illegal because it's unnatural, it's against some religions, and it
can affect other people. First gay marriage should be illegal cause of the fact it's unnatural. How
is gay marriage unnatural, and do to the fact it's unnatural what can it cause? By being gay it can
cause depression. How can being gay cause depression? It can cause depression because by where
it is unnatural people will start to make fun of you or bully you. It also leads to suicide. Suicide is
the leading death among gay and lesbians' youth nationally. 30% of gay youth commit suicide

Being gay eve caused some deaths as a matter of fact; twenty one gays were brutally killed in 1996
for being gay (Intro). That's another reason why gay marriage should be illegal. Another reason
why gay marriage should be illegal is because it is against the bible. It says that if a man lies with a
male as with women, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their
blood will be on their own heads (Bible). These are my reasoning's on why gay marriage should be

Why shouldn't Same Sex Marriage legalized? Number one why would you want more gay couples
walking around and getting married? It flat out is just not right at all. No matter if same sex
marriage is legal or illegal it will never be okay on any circumstance. Marriage has always been
between A Man and Woman not two guys and two girls. Marriage should stay the same, it should
not be legalized, they're just too many wrongs to it and it is not acceptable.
The United States economy will receive a substantial boost from the legalization of same–sex
marriage, due to improved labor mobility and increased productivity. The United States Supreme
Court ruled in June that same–sex couples had the right to marry, meaning that all states must now
recognize and conduct gay marriages. States decided on an individual basis whether to do so, with
some conservative states opting to ban them (Cosgrave). Same Sex Marriage causes kids that are
growing up to think it is okay and causes heterosexual marriages break apart. Same Sex Marriage
denies a child, turns a moral wrong into a civil right, defeats the purpose of benefiting marriage, and
is against the Biblical truth.
Same sex marriage always denies either a mother or father. In 1977 Dade county, Florida passed an
ordinance prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. Bryant mobilized opposition
to the measure under the banner "save our children" (Hillstrom 21).

Same–Sex Marriage: Not a Match for Society Marriage, as defined by Merriam–Webster, is "the
legal relationship into which a man and a woman enter with purpose of making a home and raising a
family" (358).Although most people in the United States, including myself, agree on that definition,

Same sex marriage became legal on June 26th, 2015. So, why is there still discrimination? It's legal,
right? The discrimination against homosexual athletes in American sports is out of control and
needs to be changed immediately. How would people feel being looked down upon being one of the
only openly gay athletes in the United States? Before 2014 there was not any openly gay athletes
currently playing professional sports in the United States. This shows the fear humans have when it
comes to being honest about their sexuality because they know what the general public thinks about
it. Discrimination is inhumane, especially when it comes to peoples beliefs. Sixty–five percent of
females in the WNBA are homosexual, but are not discriminated against compared to the way
male athletes are. Many gay athletes do not come out about their sexuality until after retirement
because they fear what others will think. Discrimination is inhumane, especially when it comes to
peoples beliefs. "Saying negative comments or slurs about someone's sexuality is just as bad as
insulting a player about his or her race or religion" (Griffen, 2003). Somebody's belief are how
they feel about their world and they should not be judged or insulted. The United States is a

There are more than eight million people in the United States that are in the LGBT, which stands
for (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) community. All of those people want to marry who they
want and have the same rights as anyone else. Gay marriage rights should be legal because it will
make LGBT families more stable, create a non–discriminated society, and more children could be
adopted.
The first reason it should be legal is that it will make LGBT families more stable. Children raised by
same–sex parents had fewer social problems than heterosexual raised children. This proves that
same–sex parents are just as capable as heterosexual parents. Same–sex families are usually made by

how people look and treat one another. We hope that one–day no one will judge one another based
on their religion, race, or even life choices. The LGBT community is discriminated against every
day for just being themselves. All people should be able to express themselves however they want

into loving homes. Many children do not get adopted for, there are not enough people in the world

There are many issues the revolve around same–sex marriage. Many issues like: Whether same–sex
should be legalized and should there be an amendment on same–sex marriage? There are multiple
side to view this, but gay marriage but in my opinion gay marriage is socially accepted. it should
be legal and it does affect American teens in a broad spectrum of ways. There have been a lot of
issues on whether or not same–sex marriage should be legal or not. According to Burns, " The union
of a man and a woman is the most enduring human institution, honored and encouraged in all
cultures and by every religious faith" (page 7 of "Gay Marriage") this means that heterosexual
marriage is the most common marriage in the entire world. its accepted by all religions and cultures.
This is predominantly true throughout all well known cultures in the world. Burns later states that
"Ages of experience have taught... the commitment between a husband and wife to love and to serve
one another promotes the welfare of children and the stability of society" In other words, the union
between a man and a women is the status quo and is expected throughout American cultures. to sum

Marriage is a commitment between two people that cherish one another. In almost every country
and culture, marriage is a commitment of loyalty and love. Marriage is an authority contract

Why Same Sex Marriage Should be Legal Everywhere If two people are happy with one another,
they should be allowed to be together. Someone's sex does not determine whom they can and cannot
marry. The only difference between what we consider a 'normal'marriage and a gay marriage is
simply by the genitalia that we have and the gender we identify as. We need to stop focusing on
the gender of couples and start focusing on the love that they share. Same sex marriage should be
legal everywhere because it is an issue of equal rights, it does not harm anyone and if love is legal,
then so should same sex marriage.
Imagine being unable to visit the love of your life in the hospital as they are fighting for their
survival. Imagine watching everyone around you getting married and divorced and married
again while you are not given the opportunity to get married once. This is a reality for so many
same sex couples. Gay and lesbian couples want to get married for the same reasons straight
couples do. A legal citizen should not be excluded from the same rights simply because of their

Same–sex marriage; why is it even an issue in this era? To put it into perspective, almost 9 million
Americans are identified as a homosexual, meaning this is not just a minor issue. Also, with our
society making significant movements toward equality in recent decades both in gender and racial
issues, one has to think about sexual equality in the United States. I will explain to the reader why
we should legalize same–sex marriage, especially in terms of justice and the benefits our society
receives from same–sex marriage. Also, the consequences of the legalization of same–sex marriage,

To achieve this goal, I have organized my paper into four main sections. In the first section, I

Same–Sex Marriage Many people don't know the story behind the battle of same–sex marriage. They
hear about it on the news but fail to see the big picture behind it. Legally, why all of the sudden is
same–sex marriage such a big deal? Most people don't know why people are fighting for this
equality. Who brought the debate from the bottom (in their state) all the way to the Supreme Court
to get justice for all same–sex couples? What is the Supreme Court's final and current ruling in all
same–sex marriage cases? Same–sex marriage is currently legally evolving into something bigger
than just a marriage. Over the years same–sex marriage has become quite a popular debate among
people in the United States. Same–sex marriage is one of the few topics that you're either for it or

right, allowing the right to marry whomever based on preference. The enforcement of adopting
same–sex marriage as a civil right will gradually affect the area of the religious factor. As it slowly

to the U.S. Constitution's full faith and credit clause, states must recognize each other's laws and
regulations. In addition to that, DOMA defines marriage for federal purposes as a legal union
between a man and a woman. Since the passage of the act, every state has filed a DOMA bill

Countless persons are against same sex marriage but in some ways support it. Many same sex
marriage adversaries differ centered only on the use of the word marriage. Those adversaries to
same sex marriage feel that the term marriage is defined by the public or religious beliefs and
