Digital marketing is an umbrella term of all advertisements delivered through electronic mediums. When people hear and talk about digital marketing, it is true that most of them think about different types of internet channels. Such as Email, Social Media, Website, and Search Engines. Basically, anything connected with the Internet via Smartphone, Tablet, Laptop, Desktop etc. However, digital marketing can occur both online and offline.
  5. 5. Overview Digital marketing can be done both online and offline. And, both kinds matter for a well-rounded digital marketing strategy. One day Mr. UDM says: I am a digital marketer, but I don't know anything without very specific social media posting techniques only. Such as Facebook. Even I don't know how many techniques have on Facebook to do social media marketing with it. But I am doing digital marketing and feels like I am the best digital marketer. Another thing is that I don't know Facebook is a part of Social Media Marketing and Social Media Marketing is one of the parts of Digital Marketing. While digital marketing is a different type of part of 360-degree digital marketing. Remember it, do not try to become the following someone: The moral of the story is: Do not say about anything which is you don't know correctly and sincerely. Because you don't know who is listening to your speech, how much capability he or she has on that topic.
  7. 7. What is Digital Marketing? “It’s about targeting the right audience at the right time and moment to produce the right outcomes”. Digital Marketing is a most popular, important, effective and best marketing process for different types of business products and services.

The group of potential customers found online is a much larger group of people than you are likely to attract locally. It includes a broad range of marketing elements than traditional business marketing due to the extra channels and marketing mechanisms available on the internet. It’s one of the most profitable and successful marketing methods, such as competitive advantage, reduced vast expenses, best control, smart communications, improved customer service, growth in potential, etc.

One popular type of sponsored content is influencer marketing. Another type of sponsored content could be a blog post or article that is written to highlight a topic, service, or brand.

Radio and TV marketing are categorized as offline digital marketing because they involve an electronic device. Yet, the connection to the Internet is not necessary. Then there’s enhanced offline marketing. Suppose you’ve ever been to a restaurant and ordered your meal using an electronic tablet. In that case, you’re no stranger to offline marketing. It is an enhanced offline marketing experience with a digital device. Electronic billboards are a great example of enhanced offline digital marketing. Lastly, there’s phone marketing, otherwise known as cold calling. Many people believed that cold calling was dead, mainly since people now screen their calls. However, cold calling and telemarketers still exist and, surprisingly, even bring in sales.

The digital marketer usually focuses on a different key performance indicator (KPI) for each channel so they can properly measure the company's performance across each one. A digital marketer who's in charge of SEO, for example, measures their website's "organic traffic" of that traffic coming from website visitors who found a page of the business's website via a Google search.
