Essay about The Film Amadeus
The Film Amadeus
This paper will take a look into the movie Amadeus, to see if the film accurately
depicts the history of Amadeus and the enlightenment of the characters. The time period
that the film takes place in is the 18th century. There is a mixture ofsocial class in this
film. There are rulers and commoners shown in this film. The main characters in the film
which are Mozart, Salieri, and Emperor Joseph represent actual historical figures. The
film was made in 1984.
The film was somewhat accurate with the characters and the time, but for the
most part the film never stated what year everything was happening in. Someone could
tell that the time frame of the film was the 18th century, but...show more content...
For example when
Emperor Joseph wanted Amadeus to stay in Vienna to make an opera he also wanted him
to stay because it would upset the bishop. There were also many ideas that Mozart
showed Joseph. Joseph allowed these works to happen showed his enlightenment. These
idea were seen wrong in the social class in Vienna, but Joseph still accept these ideas.
One example was the first opera that Mozart did for Joseph. Amadeus wanted to
do the opera in German. This was seen as unmoral cause all opera's were in Italian. Also
Mozart wanted to use a setting of Turkey. This idea was accepted by Joseph. The ideas
that Joseph accepted looked to be the most risky. These idea showed that he was an
enlighten Despot. Another example was when Mozart was plan on doing an opera on The
Marriage of Figaro. This was a very risquГ© opera. Mozart promised that it not going to be
a vulgar opera. Joseph again agreed to this opera, even do his subjects didn't agree. Then
during rehearsals there was ballet in the opera which was against the law to have in the
opera. This law was made by Joseph. Then after seeing the play without it, he wanted it
in because it didn't look right. He basically changed his own law, to the displeased of his
subjects again. Emperor Joseph showed enlightenment many times in this film.
Mozart can be viewed as an enlightenment hero. He stood against the opposition
of the church and the convention. For

My Favorite Movie Essay
Every person can relate to being asked the question: "What's your favorite movie?". Most of the
time this is a very tricky question for people to answer, simply because there are so many viable
options to chose from. Strangely enough, if you were to ask a movie director or producer what
their favorite films are, they'd give you a straightforward and honest answer consisting of only one
or a few different titles that come to mind. As strange as it sounds, directors who have grown up or
become accustomed to the Film Industry usually have strong set opinions and perspectives that tend
to reflect in their own projects and exploits, even though they are continually surrounded by all sorts
of inspirations and potential influencers. Contrary to what you might expect, these directors, editors,
producers, and creators tend to remain very set in their ways and adapt their works into forms of
reflectives stemming from their everyday perspective. My own aunt, Devin Adair, has worked in the
film industry for nearly two decades, during which she has spent time in commercial, television,
independent and studio film markets, finally chasing her own dream of creating her own
masterpiece of film. Her, like many before, came into the industry bright–eyed and hopeful, awaiting
the great and many potential opportunities. But she came to realize that the road leading there would
have many twists and turns, each producing more and more speed bumps along the way. Her story
is one of battling

Describe an interesting film you saw recently. You should say; What is the title? When did you see
it? What is the story about? And explain why this movie was interesting to you.
Last summer, my family and I went to AMC Movie Theater in Cupertino and enjoyed a movie
entitled "Journey to the Center of the Earth".
It was a Science Fiction and adventure movie in three–dimensions.
We enjoyed state–of –the–art computer graphics in the movie. For instance, when a dinosaur chased
the characters, I was on edge as if I were with them.
The movie's plot started from the idea that another world exists deep inside of the earth with a
variety of unusual creatures. It showed the director's extensive imagination and creativity. I was

While providing valuable information, they can also offer entertainment. Depending on what kind
of movies you watch, you can relieve your stress, be entertained or impressed, and be informed.
Movies can be one form of news media and be reflective of our society and time.
Q. Do you believe that the movie rating system is necessary for current films?
Yes, definitely. Nowadays, there are too many films which contain violent and sexual contents. So,
it's very harmful for children or teenagers. Thus, it is inevitable to have rating system to distinguish
the people who can see the film from those who cannot.
Q. What do you think about the violence on TV or in films?
The violence on TV or in films is terrible nowadays. It seems like movie producers do not care
about innocent children or teenagers who might be affected by those horrible scenes. There was an
incidence that one child imitated the crime on a film and killed his brother. So, I think there should
be much strict laws against the violence on TV.
Q. Do you think movies are better recently than they were in the past?
As far as special effects are concerned, yes, movies are definitely better now. But I don't think the
stories are necessarily better than those produced in the past. In fact, I think a lot of the time movie
markers concentrate too much on special effects and forget about a plot.
Q. What sort of topics do movie producers consider for the films?
Since movies try to picture out the reality as well as

About Comedy Films Essay
About Comedy Films
Our exam topic is based on Comedy films. Comedy is very individual and subjective. Comedy is
inherent, different audiences find different things funny. Recently we had just seen a movie called,
"There's Something about Marry," starring Cameron Diaz and Ben Stiller. This is a prime example
of a comedy film.
Comedy Films "make me laugh" – they elicit laughter from the audience. Comedies are
light–hearted dramas, designed to amuse and provoke laughter. The comedy genre exaggerates the
situation, the language, action, and characters. Comedies observe the deficiencies, foibles, and
frustrations of life, providing merriment. Providing a momentary escape from day–to–day life, they

Screwball comedies, predominant from the mid–1930s to the mid–1940s, are light–hearted, often
sophisticated, romantic stories, commonly focusing on a battle of the sexes in which both
co–protagonists try to outwit or outmaneuver each other. They usually include visual gags, wacky
characters, a fast–paced improbable plot, and rapid–fire, wise–cracking dialogue reflecting sexual
tensions and conflicts in the blossoming of a relationship (or the patching up of a marriage) for an
attractive couple with on–going, antagonistic differences. The couple is often a fairly eccentric, but
well–to–do female interested in romance and a generally passive or weak male who resists romance.
(Stereotypical men) However, after a twisting and turning plot, romantic love usually triumphs in the
end.
Black Comedy is a popular sub genre of comedy films, these are dark, sarcastic, humorous, or
sardonic stories that help us examine otherwise ignored darker serious, pessimistic subjects such as
war, death, or illness.
Spoof films mock other movies. And a great example of this is a very recent film which has two
parts to it, is Scary Movie. This film takes the mockery out of the horror genre. Spoof films
normally called Parody movies, exaggerate and over play illogical in an existing film genre. They
used to be teenage slasher movies.

Descriptive Essay About A Movie
I had just gotten off work and I was running around frantically trying to find the perfect outfit for a
movie date, I didn't want to be too dressed up, but also not in a t–shirt and shorts, like I usually am.
My parents wouldn't let me leave until they got to meet Garrett, the guy who was taking me out
to the movies. I was super nervous they weren't going to like him because of his interests. So I
send Garrett a text saying that my parents wanted him to come into the house so they could meet
him. My dad is very blunt and doesn't know how to control himself sometimes, but I asked him to
be nice and if he had any comments to keep them to himself, and thankfully, he did, but he snuck
in "what? Does he need a pair of your jeans?" right before Garrett walked through the front door.
Garrett is a guy who wears skinny jeans everyday, literally, everyday and he has curly shaggy hair,
which I think suits him perfectly.
It was completely silent majority of the car ride, besides the music playing the background. I think
it would have been a little less awkward if we had the same music tastes, but unfortunately, we did
not. He is into screamo songs, and I'm more into hip/hop and pop. We talked a little here and
there, and finally arrived to the town Union, where we would be seeing the movie. We got there
super early, like almost an hour early, so we looked up back roads to drive on to waste our time.
While we drove around waiting on our movie, we got to talk about ourselves. I would ask

What Makes a Great Film? Essay
What Makes a Great Film?
With movies, you are able to travel back in time and explore unknown eras. If you rather race
ahead of your century, they can also hurl you into the future. You can easily become indulged in a
mystery, fall in love in a romance, test your fright in a horror, or make the scientific impossible
possible in a science fiction. Movies are movies. They provide entertainment by immersing people
into an imaginary world. However, these movies or films need to have certain qualities in order to
provide this form of entertainment and to be notable. Hence, these qualities would have to contribute
in making a great film. This would point to the question of what is it that really makes a great film.
Firstly, one of the...show more content...
Bryan Singer also showed in his movies, his outlook of society and misfits. This brings up another
feature a dominant director must have in order to create a great film. The director must make
himself the primary author or voice of the movie. Through the director's film we should be able to
see one person's way of viewing the world. Hence, with a dominant director, he would have the
potential to change the way we see the world. Thus, this is another quality that goes into creating a
great film.
Another feature that creates a great film is the existence of a grand, related to the scenes musical
score. Music is generally used in films to support the visual images and the action. Namely with it
no verbal communication need to be required for certain scenes, since the music itself conveys what
is going to happen or what is happening.
Hence, it can be said that music adds to a film dramatic effects and establishes moods.
To illustrate this point, movie musical composer Jerry Goldsmith stated, "music shows certain
scenes and it definitely gives a film the energy it needs". An example of a movie with a musical
score that has greatly enhanced the scenes is the 1968 classic "The Planet of The Apes". In this
movie, the music was so blended in, that terrifying scenes were felt even before they happened.
However, it should be noted that in

Essay on Babies: a Documentary Film
'Babies' is a documentary film which chronicles the first year of life of four babies spanning the
globe. Documentarian Thomas BalmГЁs fans out to the grasslands of Namibia, the plains of
Mongolia, the high rises of Tokyo and the busy streets of San Francisco in a study of culture,
societal structure, geography and tradition, along with parental love and the impact all these
elements have on child rearing. In the hunting and gathering society of Namibia and pastoral
Mongolia, BalmГЁs follows Ponijao and Bayar and in postindustrial Tokyo and San Francisco we
are introduced to Mari and Hattie. While the 1:18 film has no real dialogue, viewers are able to get
a distinct feel for each baby's personality, the role they play within the family...show more content...
This is precisely the life of individuals in pastoral societies where food is obtained by raising and
taking care of domesticated animals. An important element in Bayar's upbringing is the fact that
for the most part, he remains tightly swaddled in a blanket resting atop a carpet covered bed. His
older brother sleeps on the floor beneath. For what seems like a good portion of Bayar's first year,
he is left to observe family life going on around him. Again, the mother is the primary caregiver
for the children even though she is also involved in the upkeep of the animals on the farm. The
father is documented in sparse interactions like when he sits over Bayar on the bed and waves a
rattle in his face. And while the hut the family resides in appears to be hand crafted, the home
does contain furniture, cooking devices, electricity and there is also a large satellite out front.
Bayar is bathed in a pail in the living room and at one point; the mother squirts breast milk in his
face and wipes him down with a cloth. As Bayar begins to crawl and subsequently walk, he and
his older sibling have free reign of the hut and the land surrounding. Domesticated animals share
the same freedom as a chicken wanders inside the home and hops up on the bed with Bayar,
stepping just over the baby's head. In another scene, a goat comes to the entry way of the home
where Bayar is being bathed and takes a drink of bath water. At

Film and Video Production:
Becoming the Future of the Silver Screen
Every so often a movie is released with such tense anticipation and glamorous visual art that the
public is drawn to this dramatic rendition of life in the theatre. For even just two hours or so, you
are put into a different lifestyle. Action, drama or comedy it may be. We are thrust into a different
way of thinking. We are forced to learn the characters thoughts and feelings. Thehard work and
artistic skill that goes into these magnificent films is not an easy thing to mimic. Out of the

Even if one plans on becoming a director and not a screenwriter one needs to know what kind of
scripts to look for. This is very important for a beginning small movie director since the reader will
most likely be writing their own scripts to get some recognition. A script is a document that
outlines every aural, visual, behavioral, and lingual element required to tell a story, according to
the dictionary definition at www.Wikidpedia.org. It is crucial to remember that film is a visual
medium. One doesn't tell the audience the story, one shows them. So what one will be writing is
not a novel but more like explaining a dream on paper. One must learn to write a screenplay
visually. As famed director Darren Aronofsky said in an interview with a struggling screenwriter
trying to get published,
"Most of what one writes that doesn't work on screen will just be improvised on the movie set".
There are many important requirements for screenplays that may seem like minutia at first glance
but the format of ones script is extremely important
since it will be submitted along with hundreds of others to one producer. For example, the main font
in use in the U.S. by both publishers and the Hollywood film industry is Courier 12 pitch According
to AFI (American Film Industry) the basics of screenwriting. Though this seems unimportant, when
a publisher is looking at a manuscript he is going to look for things

Essay about Movie Villains
Movie Villains
What really is a villain?
Villains have been alive forever, there is no way to easily detected them or stopping them. They
come in all shapes and sizes from animals to little children to even space aliens. Each villain has
his or her own particular style, usually greed. Another big reason for there evil acts is because of
revenge, revenge can turn innocent people in to cold blooded killers. The term used to represent
villains is antagonist, or someone who opposes the protagonist or hero of the story. Movie villains

Probably the earliest known villains would be the serpent in the garden of eve. It was the first

little earlier, like Vikings and evil knights. More modern movie villains were
Nazi's, mad scientists, psychopaths, gangsters, people with super human powers, and spies. Villains
have evolved devilishly throughout the ages.
What are some famous villains?
There are millions of villains throughout movie history, some stand out more than others. One
villains I think anyone can recognize is the wicked witch of the west from The Wizard of Oz, she
is so sinister it makes her stand out and also everyone likes her flying monkeys. One villains from
biblical times is
Dathan from The Ten Commandments, who is the sinister helper of the Pharaoh
Ramses that tries to kill Moses. Dathan meets his despise by being engulfed in a trench than makes
him fall into a place worse than any other place in the world. A fairly old villain is Long John Silver
from Treasure Island. Long
John doesn't die in the end, he escapes because he tricks Jim into letting him go from his prison, he
escapes and probably is still trying to find gold to this day. One more

Why Comedy Movies Are So Great Essay
There are many forms of expression inside of everybody; however the most common form is
laughter. The sound of laughter can be heard all around the worlds every second, it helps us relieve
stress and makes us feel better about ourselves. Comedy movies play such an important role in
helping us laugh. There are many forms of movies out there today. In spite of the recent incline in
action and horror movies today, comedy movies has always been my number one choice because it
gives people an opportunity to look at humor in life, it usually has a pointless, useless moral that
we can relate to, and it allows you to look at things in a new light and possibly expand your horizon
to become a more optimistic person....show more content...
Many of the morals in a comedy movie can relate to us; however, it usually is a moral that is just
useless facts that we don't need in our daily life. In the movie, Me, Myself, and Irene is an
example of a moral that we can relate to but really don't need. In the beginning of the movie the
character has found the love of his life, they get married and live a happy life until his wife finds
another guy and they get divorced. At the end of the movie the main character finds another girl
he really likes and was going to let her walk out of his life, until he realizes he is not going to be
happy without her and stops her from leaving. The moral in the movie was that you shouldn't let a
loved one go by without telling that person your feelings. We can relate to this but it wont be of
value in our daily life.
Comedy movies can educate us and make us change into a different person as well. It allows us to
look at things in a new light and possibly expand your horizon to become a more optimistic person.
The term optimistic means a person who has a positive outlook in life. Not many comedies has this
characteristic in their movies; however, one movie that does is Dumb and dumber. Both the
characters were stupid, so they took something a person would say and take it very literally.

Foreign Films Vs. Local Films Essay
Nowadays, most of the Malaysians prefer to watch foreign films than the local films. This can be
seen by the number of ticket sold in cinema for the foreign films are higher than the local films
same as the DVD's. If both the foreign films and local films are compared, there will be many
things that the local films lack of. Lijialong (2014) posted that Rosnan, Ismail & Daud 2007
mentioned that there is a small number of audiences which has a total approximately 5.29 million
in 2008 out of 28 million, according to the data shown in a graph from an article. This is proving
that foreign films are more preferred by the Malaysians than the local films. Many of Malaysian
thinks that the foreign films are far better compared to the local films based on their storyline, actors
and technologies. The foreign films have more attractive and good storyline, talented actors and their
technologies also are more modern.
The storyline of foreign films are more attractive than the local films. Most of the local films
have the same storyline especially for genre like love, horror and action. The ending of the films
are also almost the same. Besides that, most of the local films do not give any good moral value
especially for the kids. This can give bad effects for the kids who will lead the country in the future.

Today, the movie industry has become a huge moneymaker in the entertainment business. You
cannot turn on the television without seeing advertisements for the next big blockbuster film.
While most of the films these days entertain with amazing special effects or raunchy comedy,
there are still films that thrive because of great acting, directing, and editing. Three films that I
believe would be great examples of the way these aspects can cause a film to excel are ?Any

editing, a movie can portray an intense situation realistically. In ?The Cell?, color is used to

?The Cell?, instead of focusing on accurately portraying reality, takes you to the dream world.
Catherine Deane, played by Jennifer Lopez, is a child psychologist involved in an experimental
project that allows her to travel inside the mind of coma victims to try to draw them away from
their fears and thus out of their coma. This movie portrays the journey inside the mind much like
you would depict a dream. When Deane is inside a young child, whose main concern seems to be
a fear of the ?boogie man?, the world she enters is a beautiful desert scene where the sky is bright
blue with puffy white clouds. She is always dressed in bright white dresses and seems to glow.
This depicts that she has earned the child?s trust. All color is brighter in this dreamlike world.
Even though these experiments had not been successful bringing the child out of the coma, Dean
was able to learn a lot about the child. This caused a couple of detectives to approach her about
entering the mind of a serial killer who had slipped into a coma with the goal of discovering the
location of his most recent captive.

Persuasive Essay About My Favorite Movie

exploring the woods and backyard with my brothers and my Dad and watching this movie made
me look toward the possibility of one day living a life that ultimately felt free from my parents'

myself as I felt in a way I always had. As a kid I felt like the odd duck out sometimes and felt

Essay about violence in movies
If you watch movies these days you know you're sure to see some sort of violence whether it be a
killing, beating, or some kind of cruel act. Now every time you watch TV, you are likely to see a
commercial promoting a new movie with a catch title such as "Scream" or "Fear." Whether you
think these movies are necessary or not, production companies know they will get the viewers and
this is why they keep making them.
I was watching a movie the other day, with my lovely girlfriend of course, by the name of "The

Is it the suspense you can feel in your bones before the killer pops out of the shower? Whatever it
is, it brings us back time and time again to watch these violent movies. Today even movies with
Disney hitched to their names contain small amounts of violence that is driving these thoughts of
aggression into our heads like a nail into a board.
Everyday I watch the news, and everyday I see some new story of a child who shot another kid or
choke slammed another kid breaking his back or some other meaningless act of violence. It seems
that in more and more of these cases though, the children are blaming there stupidity on what they
saw in a movie the night before or what they watched on Monday Night Nitro. Are these just
excuses for there acts or is this the main reason why these kids are doing these things? I believe
TV might play a partial role but in some cases the blame should be put on the parents. They need to
teach there kids that what they see on TV. is not real and should not be reenacted out in real life.
So as you can see, there is much violence in movies today, but whether you believe violence in
movies is necessary or not, producers will keep adding it to their movies and people will keep
coming back to watch them. Violence is everywhere these days. In movies, TV, video games, even
Saturday morning cartoons. Taking violence out of all these things might lower our

My Greatest Movies Essay
There are remarkably multiple amazing movies to choose from.If I had to pick 10 of the greatest
films of all time they would include suspense and action. The list of movies that I have picked out
are in my opinion the greatest films of all time. In the cinema, there are hundreds and hundreds of
memorable moments and scenes from many films. The reason behind this is because the ten movies
that I have picked out have compelled me to ''relive'' the moment. Therefore they give me a memory
that I will hold on to.
If a movie changes you mine it's not because of your reasoning it's because of your emotions that
you feel towards the movie. My 10 greatest films must be films that fascinate me and pull me in
quickly. They need to embezzle my attention and keep me entertained at all times.
Therefore my 10 greatest films are:
1) Moana
After seeing this movie multiple times, this movie is by far my favorite film. It's not because it is a
disney film or even a kids movie it's because all the elements in this movie was well executed. The
animation of this film was done beautifully and done with great detail. In the film you can tell how
much time and effort was put in and how the animators took the time to work on each section of
the movie. The soundtrack of moana was beautifully written and composed. Another reason that
moana is my number one movie is because she is not a princess. In the movie she is trained to be
the chief and wants be for her island and her people. In addition to that the characters in the film that
we encounter are very compelling. We watch them change, and grow and react throughout the
movie. Lastly, the story was very strong Moana had conflicts, and goals and knew how to overcome
the conflicts to get to her goals.
2) The Hunger Games
One of the main reasons why I chose The Hunger Games as my second choice is because it is a
very intense and suspenseful movie. In this film what I really liked was that there was love, loss
and explosion. You never knew what was going to happen which I enjoyed because I knew it was
going to be a very superb movie. The actors and actresses in this movie were picked out
marvelously. Each character in this movie played their part as if the Hunger Games existed. The

Film Making
Film production phases
Film production is the process of making a film starting from the story or idea through scriptwriting,
shooting to the distribution of the movie to the audience. There are four main phases involved in
film making.
Development phase
In the development phase, the film is written from the story (Cones, p. 195). The story may come
from a book, a play, another film or an original idea developed by the film producer. During the
development of the film, the film producer works in corroboration with the film writers to develop
the film message and a theme of the message. They then prepare a synopsis of the film. The film
producer and the writers then prepare a step outline of the film that break the whole...show more

It is aimed at making the film ready to be distributed to the viewers (Barbara and Sphor, p. 1–3). In
this phase, the production scripts and items are assembled to make a complete movie. According to
Barbara and Sphor (2002), activities involved in the post–production phase include film processing
and printing. Moreover, the pictures and the sound are synchronized in the post–production phase,
and an assemblage created. After the movie has been completed, it is then ready to be distributed to
the viewers.
Narrative films
According to Pramaggiore and Wallis (p. 8), narrative films produce comedy or tragedy. Therefore,
in narrative films, viewers expect the stories of human actors that produce comedy or tragedy due
to circumstances. According to Pramaggiore and Wallis (p. 8), viewers of narrative films would
expect to see stories about people who in the attempt to achieve certain objectives or goals undergo
through various obstacles on their way.
Mise–en–scene
This is a term used in film production and that is concerned with the way the story is told in a film
(Gibbs, p. 5–10). As such it refers to all the elements of visual styles used in the film.
Mise–en–scene refers to all components of the film composition including the film composition, film
framing, camera and character movement, film lighting as well as the sound used in the film
composition.

Essay about Sci-fI Films
In this essay I am going to discuss about the topic:
"Science fiction often plays off the real against the artificial, either in the form of humans versus
non–human (androids, cyborgs, synthetics), or the world versus the non–world (cyberspace,
inner–space, intentional space)".
I have chosen the films "The Matrix" and "Bicentennial Man"
An explosion in information access and exchange is fueling the Information Superhighway that was
created as a result of the computer revolution. If technology has truly become a god, then cyberspace
is definitely its bible. Its scope is endless; its breadth enormous. Although the foundation of
cyberspace, the computer, definitely serves to dehumanize culture, the Information Superhighway
itself does...show more content...
It shows robots that act like humans, performed by real actors. I'm going to criticize them because
in my opinion they exercise pernicious influence upon the public. In brief, The Bicentennial Man
(BM) tells the story of a robot that lasts for about 200 years. His creator and his descendants
change this robot, in order to acquire more and more human features. In the beginning he uses a
kind of armor, looking like a machine; during the night he connects a plug into the electric outlet to
recharge his batteries. Gradually, his appearance becomes more and more humane, to a point where
he acts as any normal human, with thinking, feeling and willing, that is, the robot would have
passed the total turning test. It is not clear if it would have passed the total total turning test. At the
end, the woman with whom the robot is in love is going to die, so he decides that he cannot suffer
her absence and should also "die" (Setzer 2002)
A 'cyborg', a contraction of Cybernetic Organism, is a hybrid of man (or woman) and machine. The
machine parts endow additional strength and physical capability while the human provides the
intelligence and will as well as much of the body, which makes them largely irrelevant to this
dissertation. Occasionally things are more complicated; when the machine part provides some

Essay About Movie

  • 1. Essay about The Film Amadeus The Film Amadeus This paper will take a look into the movie Amadeus, to see if the film accurately depicts the history of Amadeus and the enlightenment of the characters. The time period that the film takes place in is the 18th century. There is a mixture ofsocial class in this film. There are rulers and commoners shown in this film. The main characters in the film which are Mozart, Salieri, and Emperor Joseph represent actual historical figures. The film was made in 1984. The film was somewhat accurate with the characters and the time, but for the most part the film never stated what year everything was happening in. One example was the first opera that Mozart did for Joseph. Amadeus wanted to do the opera in German. This was seen as unmoral cause all opera's were in Italian. Also Mozart wanted to use a setting of Turkey. This idea was accepted by Joseph. The ideas that Joseph accepted looked to be the most risky. These idea showed that he was an enlighten Despot. This law was made by Joseph. Then after seeing the play without it, he wanted it in because it didn't look right. He basically changed his own law, to the displeased of his subjects again. Emperor Joseph showed enlightenment many times in this film. Mozart can be viewed as an enlightenment hero. He stood against the opposition of the church and the convention. • 3. My Favorite Movie Essay Every person can relate to being asked the question: "What's your favorite movie?". Most of the time this is a very tricky question for people to answer, simply because there are so many viable options to chose from. Strangely enough, if you were to ask a movie director or producer what their favorite films are, they'd give you a straightforward and honest answer consisting of only one or a few different titles that come to mind. As strange as it sounds, directors who have grown up or become accustomed to the Film Industry usually have strong set opinions and perspectives that tend to reflect in their own projects and exploits, even though they are continually surrounded by all sorts of inspirations and potential influencers. Contrary to what you might expect, these directors, editors, producers, and creators tend to remain very set in their ways and adapt their works into forms of reflectives stemming from their everyday perspective. My own aunt, Devin Adair, has worked in the film industry for nearly two decades, during which she has spent time in commercial, television, independent and studio film markets, finally chasing her own dream of creating her own masterpiece of film. Her, like many before, came into the industry bright–eyed and hopeful, awaiting the great and many potential opportunities. But she came to realize that the road leading there would have many twists and turns, each producing more and more speed bumps along the way. Her story is one of battling Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Describe an interesting film you saw recently. You should say; What is the title? When did you see it? What is the story about? And explain why this movie was interesting to you. Last summer, my family and I went to AMC Movie Theater in Cupertino and enjoyed a movie entitled "Journey to the Center of the Earth". It was a Science Fiction and adventure movie in three–dimensions. We enjoyed state–of –the–art computer graphics in the movie. For instance, when a dinosaur chased the characters, I was on edge as if I were with them. The movie's plot started from the idea that another world exists deep inside of the earth with a variety of unusual creatures. It showed the director's extensive imagination and creativity. Depending on what kind of movies you watch, you can relieve your stress, be entertained or impressed, and be informed. Movies can be one form of news media and be reflective of our society and time. Q. Do you believe that the movie rating system is necessary for current films? Yes, definitely. Nowadays, there are too many films which contain violent and sexual contents. So, it's very harmful for children or teenagers. Thus, it is inevitable to have rating system to distinguish the people who can see the film from those who cannot. Q. What do you think about the violence on TV or in films? The violence on TV or in films is terrible nowadays. It seems like movie producers do not care about innocent children or teenagers who might be affected by those horrible scenes. There was an incidence that one child imitated the crime on a film and killed his brother. So, I think there should be much strict laws against the violence on TV. Q. Do you think movies are better recently than they were in the past? As far as special effects are concerned, yes, movies are definitely better now. But I don't think the stories are necessarily better than those produced in the past. In fact, I think a lot of the time movie markers concentrate too much on special effects and forget about a plot. • 5. About Comedy Films Essay About Comedy Films Our exam topic is based on Comedy films. Comedy is very individual and subjective. Comedy is inherent, different audiences find different things funny. Recently we had just seen a movie called, "There's Something about Marry," starring Cameron Diaz and Ben Stiller. This is a prime example of a comedy film. Comedy Films "make me laugh" – they elicit laughter from the audience. Comedies are light–hearted dramas, designed to amuse and provoke laughter. The comedy genre exaggerates the situation, the language, action, and characters. Comedies observe the deficiencies, foibles, and frustrations of life, providing merriment. Providing a momentary escape from day–to–day life, they ...show more content... Screwball comedies, predominant from the mid–1930s to the mid–1940s, are light–hearted, often sophisticated, romantic stories, commonly focusing on a battle of the sexes in which both co–protagonists try to outwit or outmaneuver each other. They usually include visual gags, wacky characters, a fast–paced improbable plot, and rapid–fire, wise–cracking dialogue reflecting sexual tensions and conflicts in the blossoming of a relationship (or the patching up of a marriage) for an attractive couple with on–going, antagonistic differences. The couple is often a fairly eccentric, but well–to–do female interested in romance and a generally passive or weak male who resists romance. (Stereotypical men) However, after a twisting and turning plot, romantic love usually triumphs in the end. Black Comedy is a popular sub genre of comedy films, these are dark, sarcastic, humorous, or sardonic stories that help us examine otherwise ignored darker serious, pessimistic subjects such as war, death, or illness. Spoof films mock other movies. And a great example of this is a very recent film which has two parts to it, is Scary Movie. This film takes the mockery out of the horror genre. Spoof films normally called Parody movies, exaggerate and over play illogical in an existing film genre. They used to be teenage slasher movies. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Descriptive Essay About A Movie I had just gotten off work and I was running around frantically trying to find the perfect outfit for a movie date, I didn't want to be too dressed up, but also not in a t–shirt and shorts, like I usually am. My parents wouldn't let me leave until they got to meet Garrett, the guy who was taking me out to the movies. I was super nervous they weren't going to like him because of his interests. So I send Garrett a text saying that my parents wanted him to come into the house so they could meet him. My dad is very blunt and doesn't know how to control himself sometimes, but I asked him to be nice and if he had any comments to keep them to himself, and thankfully, he did, but he snuck in "what? Does he need a pair of your jeans?" right before Garrett walked through the front door. Garrett is a guy who wears skinny jeans everyday, literally, everyday and he has curly shaggy hair, which I think suits him perfectly. It was completely silent majority of the car ride, besides the music playing the background. I think it would have been a little less awkward if we had the same music tastes, but unfortunately, we did not. He is into screamo songs, and I'm more into hip/hop and pop. We talked a little here and there, and finally arrived to the town Union, where we would be seeing the movie. We got there super early, like almost an hour early, so we looked up back roads to drive on to waste our time. While we drove around waiting on our movie, we got to talk about ourselves. If you rather race ahead of your century, they can also hurl you into the future. You can easily become indulged in a mystery, fall in love in a romance, test your fright in a horror, or make the scientific impossible possible in a science fiction. Movies are movies. They provide entertainment by immersing people into an imaginary world. However, these movies or films need to have certain qualities in order to provide this form of entertainment and to be notable. Hence, these qualities would have to contribute in making a great film. This would point to the question of what is it that really makes a great film. Firstly, one of the...show more content... Bryan Singer also showed in his movies, his outlook of society and misfits. This brings up another feature a dominant director must have in order to create a great film. The director must make himself the primary author or voice of the movie. Through the director's film we should be able to see one person's way of viewing the world. Hence, with a dominant director, he would have the potential to change the way we see the world. Thus, this is another quality that goes into creating a great film. Another feature that creates a great film is the existence of a grand, related to the scenes musical score. Music is generally used in films to support the visual images and the action. Namely with it no verbal communication need to be required for certain scenes, since the music itself conveys what is going to happen or what is happening. Hence, it can be said that music adds to a film dramatic effects and establishes moods. To illustrate this point, movie musical composer Jerry Goldsmith stated, "music shows certain scenes and it definitely gives a film the energy it needs". An example of a movie with a musical score that has greatly enhanced the scenes is the 1968 classic "The Planet of The Apes". In this movie, the music was so blended in, that terrifying scenes were felt even before they happened. However, it should be noted that in Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Documentarian Thomas BalmГЁs fans out to the grasslands of Namibia, the plains of Mongolia, the high rises of Tokyo and the busy streets of San Francisco in a study of culture, societal structure, geography and tradition, along with parental love and the impact all these elements have on child rearing. In the hunting and gathering society of Namibia and pastoral Mongolia, BalmГЁs follows Ponijao and Bayar and in postindustrial Tokyo and San Francisco we are introduced to Mari and Hattie. An important element in Bayar's upbringing is the fact that for the most part, he remains tightly swaddled in a blanket resting atop a carpet covered bed. His older brother sleeps on the floor beneath. For what seems like a good portion of Bayar's first year, he is left to observe family life going on around him. Again, the mother is the primary caregiver for the children even though she is also involved in the upkeep of the animals on the farm. The father is documented in sparse interactions like when he sits over Bayar on the bed and waves a rattle in his face. And while the hut the family resides in appears to be hand crafted, the home does contain furniture, cooking devices, electricity and there is also a large satellite out front. Bayar is bathed in a pail in the living room and at one point; the mother squirts breast milk in his face and wipes him down with a cloth. As Bayar begins to crawl and subsequently walk, he and his older sibling have free reign of the hut and the land surrounding. Domesticated animals share the same freedom as a chicken wanders inside the home and hops up on the bed with Bayar, stepping just over the baby's head. In another scene, a goat comes to the entry way of the home where Bayar is being bathed and takes a drink of bath water. At Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It is crucial to remember that film is a visual medium. One doesn't tell the audience the story, one shows them. So what one will be writing is not a novel but more like explaining a dream on paper. One must learn to write a screenplay visually. As famed director Darren Aronofsky said in an interview with a struggling screenwriter trying to get published, "Most of what one writes that doesn't work on screen will just be improvised on the movie set". There are many important requirements for screenplays that may seem like minutia at first glance but the format of ones script is extremely important since it will be submitted along with hundreds of others to one producer. At the end of the movie the main character finds another girl he really likes and was going to let her walk out of his life, until he realizes he is not going to be happy without her and stops her from leaving. This can be seen by the number of ticket sold in cinema for the foreign films are higher than the local films same as the DVD's. If both the foreign films and local films are compared, there will be many things that the local films lack of. The foreign films have more attractive and good storyline, talented actors and their technologies also are more modern. The storyline of foreign films are more attractive than the local films. Most of the local films have the same storyline especially for genre like love, horror and action. The ending of the films are also almost the same. • 15. Cinematography Essay examples Today, the movie industry has become a huge moneymaker in the entertainment business. You cannot turn on the television without seeing advertisements for the next big blockbuster film. While most of the films these days entertain with amazing special effects or raunchy comedy, there are still films that thrive because of great acting, directing, and editing. Three films that I believe would be great examples of the way these aspects can cause a film to excel are ?Any Given Sunday?, ?The Cell?, and ?Almost Famous?. ?Any Given Sunday? shows how, by using editing, a movie can portray an intense situation realistically. In ?The Cell?, color is used to differentiate between how we see things in reality and how...show more content... Catherine Deane, played by Jennifer Lopez, is a child psychologist involved in an experimental project that allows her to travel inside the mind of coma victims to try to draw them away from their fears and thus out of their coma. This movie portrays the journey inside the mind much like you would depict a dream. When Deane is inside a young child, whose main concern seems to be a fear of the ?boogie man?, the world she enters is a beautiful desert scene where the sky is bright blue with puffy white clouds. She is always dressed in bright white dresses and seems to glow. This depicts that she has earned the child?s trust. All color is brighter in this dreamlike world. Even though these experiments had not been successful bringing the child out of the coma, Dean was able to learn a lot about the child. This caused a couple of detectives to approach her about entering the mind of a serial killer who had slipped into a coma with the goal of discovering the location of his most recent captive. I was fascinated by how close to nature Pat, Skip, Jenny, and Toby were and particularly how close to wildlife they were. Every time I watched that movie I was just in awe of how beautiful it was and how they could sustain themselves and persevere through anything including multiple animal attacks. When I was a kid I always imagined running free in a field filled with flowers and being so close to nature and feeling free to explore my own little world. As a kid I felt like the odd duck out sometimes and felt trapped between my parents as I still do today, so moving to a place like Gunnison National Forest seemed like the ultimate sense of freedom to me. I wasn't looking for a place where I felt like I was free from all of the issues I had to deal with growing up and I could thrive as an individual without having to worry about having the coolest new things that my elementary peers had before it was uncool or eventually about having the latest Apple products or designer handbags. Now every time you watch TV, you are likely to see a commercial promoting a new movie with a catch title such as "Scream" or "Fear." Whether you think these movies are necessary or not, production companies know they will get the viewers and this is why they keep making them. I was watching a movie the other day, with my lovely girlfriend of course, by the name of "The Matrix." Whatever it is, it brings us back time and time again to watch these violent movies. Today even movies with Disney hitched to their names contain small amounts of violence that is driving these thoughts of aggression into our heads like a nail into a board. Everyday I watch the news, and everyday I see some new story of a child who shot another kid or choke slammed another kid breaking his back or some other meaningless act of violence. It seems that in more and more of these cases though, the children are blaming there stupidity on what they saw in a movie the night before or what they watched on Monday Night Nitro. Are these just excuses for there acts or is this the main reason why these kids are doing these things? I believe TV might play a partial role but in some cases the blame should be put on the parents. They need to teach there kids that what they see on TV. is not real and should not be reenacted out in real life. So as you can see, there is much violence in movies today, but whether you believe violence in movies is necessary or not, producers will keep adding it to their movies and people will keep coming back to watch them. Violence is everywhere these days. In movies, TV, video games, even Saturday morning cartoons. Taking violence out of all these things might lower our Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The list of movies that I have picked out are in my opinion the greatest films of all time. In the cinema, there are hundreds and hundreds of memorable moments and scenes from many films. The reason behind this is because the ten movies that I have picked out have compelled me to ''relive'' the moment. Therefore they give me a memory that I will hold on to. If a movie changes you mine it's not because of your reasoning it's because of your emotions that you feel towards the movie. My 10 greatest films must be films that fascinate me and pull me in quickly. They need to embezzle my attention and keep me entertained at all times. Therefore my 10 greatest films are: 1) Moana After seeing this movie multiple times, this movie is by far my favorite film. It's not because it is a disney film or even a kids movie it's because all the elements in this movie was well executed. The animation of this film was done beautifully and done with great detail. In the film you can tell how much time and effort was put in and how the animators took the time to work on each section of the movie. The soundtrack of moana was beautifully written and composed. Another reason that moana is my number one movie is because she is not a princess. In the movie she is trained to be the chief and wants be for her island and her people. In addition to that the characters in the film that we encounter are very compelling. We watch them change, and grow and react throughout the movie. Lastly, the story was very strong Moana had conflicts, and goals and knew how to overcome the conflicts to get to her goals. 2) The Hunger Games One of the main reasons why I chose The Hunger Games as my second choice is because it is a very intense and suspenseful movie. In this film what I really liked was that there was love, loss and explosion. You never knew what was going to happen which I enjoyed because I knew it was going to be a very superb movie. The actors and actresses in this movie were picked out marvelously. Each character in this movie played their part as if the Hunger Games existed. The Get more content on HelpWriting.net

All the events I went to pertain to the idea of diversifying the world and Babson campus. At first I was really surprised to see that Babson supports these kind of events because I thought they were just strictly all about business. I found it pretty amazing that Babson students participate in the arts and that Babson hosts so many culturally diverse and open minded events and plays. In September, I went to see the screening of "I am not your Negro".In October, I went to go watch the play "Clybourne Park". In November, I went to watch the Aman show; these events took place in the Sorenson Theater. I went to see "I am not your Negro" alone because I came late to Babson and didn't really know a lot of people at the time but I was really interested in watching the documentary. Before the screening,I went to The Global lounge to get some food from Panera bread."The story of the Negro in America is the story of America, and it is not a pretty story"–James Baldwin. Walking into the theater to see this show, I could already feel the tension and suspense coming from the audience. I was a bit surprised at first because I thought a majority of the audience would be African–American, but the theater was filled diversely with people from all over . I took the furthest seat from the stage/screen not only because I didn't know anyone who was going but also because I needed Get more content on HelpWriting.net
