2. ActionGenre
For this assignment I have chose the action genre, Action films is a genre where physical action
plays a main role in the storytelling of the film, The films often have continues action scenes
including stunts, fighting and chases. The story's in action genre usually revolve around a goal
the hero is trying to achieve but faces incredible odds to achieve. Apart from this being my
favourite genre of films there are multiple reasons I chose this particular genre. I like the action
genre because of the heavy use of special effects used in all action movies from the Xmen Series
to Batman. Another reason I like the action genre is they often have the same high profile stars
in such as Gerard Butler, Daniel Craig, Arnold schwarzenegger and Liev Schreiber.

6. intertextualityIntertextuality is when a film uses
something from another film such
as quotes, characters, or scenes.
An example of this would be
Arnold Schwarzenegger saying “ill
be back” which is one of his well
known catch phrases in the first
Terminator movie, He also uses
the catch phrase in many of his
other films such as The
Expendables 2.

8. Star Theory
Star theory is when a
certain actor or actress is
staring in a film which
encourages you to go and
see a film because you
belive they will make the
film better. One of my
favoured actors is Gerard
Butler ever since
watching 300 in 2007 I
have been a fan of him
and have watched all the
films he has been in from
P.S I Love You to Olympus
has fallen both
completely different
films.
9. Reception theory
Reception theory is the theory that while the audience of the film is viewing the film
the story and the meaning of the film is communicated to them throughout the
film. what the director or auteur of the film wants us to know about, there is also the
meaning which the audience themselves will create As the film goes on. It is argued
that contextual theory, the theory that the place, time, Sequence of events, are what
effects reception theory and the movement of the Meaning of the film itself.
