ECONOMY ANALYSIS
 The Nifty extended intraday fall in the afternoon and closed above 5,800
as traders booked profits in absence of supportive cues from European
peers. All the major sectoral indices, barring the IT space, ended in the red
with oil & gas, realty and auto leading the decline.
 The 50-share index ended at 5,813.25, down 45.75 points or 0.78 per cent.
It touched a high of 5,879.35 and a low of 5,802.85 in trade today.
 The S&P BSE Sensex closed at 19,286.39, down 153.09 points or 0.79per
cent. It touched a high of 19,505.93 and a low of 19,237.91 in trade today.
 Lupin (2.76 per cent), HCL Tech (2.30 per cent), NMDC (1.36 per cent),
UltraTech Cement (1.28 per cent) and Kotak Bank (1.15 per cent) were
among the Nifty gainers.
 Hindalco (3.02 per cent), Bank of Baroda (2.96 per cent), M&M (2.84
per cent), BPCLBSE -2.83 % (2.82 per cent) and IndusInd BankBSE -1.25
% (2.40 per cent) were among the top gainers.
 The market breadth was negative on the NSE with 502 gainers against 672
losers.
