4. Centro Manufacturing Corporation (CMC) was incorporated in October 1996 and was registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission with Registration Certificate No. A199608598 dated October 23, 1996. The company began operations in January 1997, initially focusing on the production of aluminum van & passenger van bodies. In 1999, Centro was chosen by Isuzu Phils. Corp. to design and manufacture the Isuzu Passenger Van (IPV) for the Isuzu pickup truck. With the transfer of technology from one of the world’s leading Japanese auto makerS, the company gained recognition and emerged as a major supplier of truck bodies in the Philippines. In 2002, Suzuki Phils. commissioned Centro to develop a telecom van mounted on a Suzuki Bravo. This became the standard service vehicle of the country’s biggest telecommunications company the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT). Isuzu Phils. Corp. also chose Centro to supply the pickup version. These successes were direct results of Centro’s policy of working with customers to customized and cater to their needs. In 2004, Centro was officially awarded by TUV America Inc. the ISO 9001:2000 certification, the first and the only truck body builder to be so honored. The company is now working on the next level certification, the TS 16949. Because of its strict quality reputation, Centro eventually gained the trust and business of more and more institutional corporate clients. These include major government accounts like the AFP, PNP and the Philippine Postal Service, leading utility companies such as Meralco for their utility vans, multi-national market leaders like Coca-Cola and Pepsi Cola for their pelletized trucks, Tanduay Distillery and Guererro Brandy for their delivery vans and Yakult Phils. & Dunkin Donuts. HISTORY
5. 2005 and 2006 were growth years. Centro was appointed by Isuzu Phils. Corp to develop and manufacture the NHR Passenger Van (NHPV) and the DMax Passenger Van. PLDT again entrusted Centro with its refleeting program using the Suzuki Bravo and the Ford Ranger pickup. And the PNP ordered new patrol vehicles using the Toyota Hilux double cab pickup. Today, Centro produces bodies for the Hyundai H-100 shuttle, Mitsubishi L300 Deluxe and Exceed, Isuzu NHPV Flexi Truck and the Isuzu Microbus. It has also been awarded local distributorship of the number one crane manufacturer in Europe, Cargotec, for its Hiab Crane, Multilift Hooklifts and Zepro Tailgate lifts. Centro Manufacturing has grown three-fold since its inception in 1997. Its first plant in Novaliches now houses the country’s most complete truck body metal fabrication shop, with superior facilities for shearing, pressing, stamping, tool & die, phosphating and painting. Its second plant in Maguyan, Cavite, now manufactures the fast growing Hyundai H-100 shuttle vans and Isuzu truck business. The expansion mode is now on its latest phase with the purchase of an equally huge lot in Sta. Maria, Bulacan to house its third plant. HISTORY
