general after a tough loss, or after an easy win, it how your demeanor is during and after a game.
Sportsmanship can be an Individual, as a team, as a community, or at a deeper meaning all of them
together. Sportsmanship has evolved greatly over the years. Sportsmanship is known as a couple
different names including; professionalism, and showmanship. Unsportsmanlike conduct, this results
in a 15–yard penalty, such as excessive celebration during a game after a score or a well–made play.
For serious instances of unsportsmanlike behavior such as fighting, there are fines, suspensions,
and bans from games, or even tournaments, and championships. These are all examples of poor

Importance Of Sportsmanship In Sports
The two things that most attract me to Wellesley are the Chandler Pool and the Lulu Campus Center.
Sportsmanship is one of my defining characteristics. Having been swimming for the past three years,
the eight–lane professional Chandler Pool at Wellesley attracts me deeply. Swimming has both
strengthened my perseverance and given me the spirit of collaboration and sportsmanship. I enjoy
the feeling of racing in the water, pushing myself to the finish line. Swimming has given my body
power, developed my deep thinking skills, and, most importantly, made me into a leader. As the
captain of the swimming team at my high school, I have had tough moments leading the team,
because most of my teammates are more senior than I and I am also an international student. But a
loud voice without any action won't win over team members. I changed the situation by working
harder and improving my communication skills. I practice longer hours than any other team
member., and became the fastest one in the team, although I am not the most physically fit. I
volunteered to swim the 500 yards freestyle and fought for my team to make the state meet. I
constantly practice my communication skills and improve my English. Instead of giving direct
orders to team members, I help and care for my team members. During my two–week medical leave,
although my doctor advised me to stay at home and rest, I went to the swimming pool, helping the
coach keep time, cheering for my team and handing them water and towels.

Sportsmanship And Sportsmanship Of A Team
Sportsmanship All athletes can recognize that being a part of a team is hard. It is incredibly
difficult to select a group of teenagers that will (1) all get along, (2) work together seamlessly, and
(3) respect their coaches. The formula for the perfect team is unknowable. One negative spirit
always exists to drag the team down, to deflate their motives and increase their egos; but that does
not have any effect on the sportsmanship of a team. Sportsmanship does not rely on the
cohesiveness of a team. It does not correlate with how many bonding trips a team endures or how
many groups of friends are on the team. It is not entirely internal or entirely external. Sportsmanship

Nevertheless, attitudes and jealousy grew. We dominated over other JV2 teams on the court, due to
the lack of completion rather than our skill; but we struggled in practice. None of us could figure out
how to work together. Not until our second tournament. The morning bus ride was quiet and
unassuming. Everyone sat separately and stared out their own windows, listening to their own
music. Upon arrival, we pulled up kneepads, put on out ankle braces, tied our shoes, and trudged
onto the court for warmup. Even with no energy, we won our first game, and the one after that, and
the one after that. First in our pool, yet there was no real celebration. Bracket play started and,
finally, we met some teams that actually challenged us. While energy started to rise, so did the
attitudes. After actually playing, for once, cockiness spread throughout the team. Then, after fighting
our way past a small team in bright red jerseys, a game won purely by luck and consistent serving,
we found ourselves in the championship game. Our final opponents hailed from one of those
pretentious private school in Portland. We had watched part of one of their games earlier, which did
nothing to boost our confidence. While most of them acted tough, our team was an accumulation of
