PROJECT FOR FINALS
                                   POLIGOV
                        By: Ms. Portia Elaine V. Bismonte

I.     Groupings: 6 slots for individual, can be partnerships, triads or groups
       with maximum members of 6 people!
II.    Project, the project itself consists of a written report and a CD presentation.
       Be as creative in presentation as you can be, you may use multimedia and
       etc. in your actual presentation, you may also design the written project, ex:
       scrap book style.

NOTE; If there are time constraints please record your actual presentation in CD
format and pass it with the actual written project.

The Final Projects deadline will be on the following dates (please note the
deadline given to your Section): (MW) Wednesday (Monday Schedule)
September 1, 2010 and Thursday (Monday Schedule) September 2, 2010 during
class hours!


III.   Project Proper: The project is a paper on Political Research and Analysis
       Paper wherein the groups will choose to analyze an Political Event, or a
       Political Idea (with historical/current significance) or a Political Puzzle and
       determine it’s political importance and significance thru several factors, it will
       be an application of the lessons in POLIGOV in it’s entirety. Each group must
       choose only one from the following topics: (* symbol the topic is taken)

       THE 23 TOPICS! First come first serve basis no two topics must be the
       same!

       A. The Birth of an Era: The Declaration of Martial Law in the Philippines
       B. The Democratic Ramifications of Edsa Revolution of 1985
       C. World War II and It’s Political and Social consequences and the Birth of
          the United Nations
       D. International/Regional Relations vs National Sovereignty: the
          consequences of the formations of the European Union (EU), ASEAN,
          APEC, and etc. and other regional or international associations formed
          by states to the integrity and sovereignty of a member state.
       E. Constitutional Amendments/Charter Change YES/NO: The process, and
          it’s legal, political, social, economic, cultural and environmental
          ramifications.
       F. Terrorism: conflicts and other effects to the international community’s
          fight for peace and order
       G. Sustainable Development and Environmentalism for a better Earth *
       H. Poverty and Overpopulation: A threat to the Social-Political-Cultural-
          Economic-Environmental aspects of international society.
       I. Espionage: Covert and Overt Operations, a Must for Political, Social, and
          Economic Supremacy for Future National and International Security and
          Inter-State Relationships

      N.   Political Environmentalism: The importance of Being an Environmentally
           Active Nation today for sustaining the country’s natural resources for the
           future generations. Discuss It’s Political Social and Economic
           Ramifications
      O.   Sustainable Development: The drive for growth and progress without
           sacrificing the environment, without the wastage and irresponsible
           exploitation of natural resources, and ensuring that the future
           generations are provided for. Discuss and Expostulate it’s effects and
           future ramifications to socio-economic-political-and cultural aspects of
           society.
      P.   The Freedom of Informed Choice: The Pros and Cons of the
           Universalizing the Access to Artificial Contraceptives to Combat the
           Burgeoning Population Growth in the Philippines, and it’s Socio-Politico-
           Economic-Cultural-Environmental Ramifications
      Q.   The Politics of Legalized Cloning: The Pros and Cons of the uses of
           Cloning:        Research         Studies/As      Organ      Banks/Conceive
           Offspring(Propagate the Species). It’s Local, National and International
           Ramifications, and It’s Effects on the Socio-Politico-Economic-
           Environmental-Cultural Spheres.
      R.   Legalization of Same-Sex Marriages: Equal Legalization of Rights for
           Homosexual Couples, It’s Pros and Cons and It’s Effects on the Socio-
           Politico-Economic-Environmental-Cultural Spheres.
      S.   Sexuality and Violence in Media: It’s Influence on Nation Building and
           Values Formation of the Youth. The Effects on the Socio-Politico-
           Economic-Environmental-Cultural Spheres
      T.   The Negative Zone: ZTE Broadband Deal The Face of Graft and
           Corruption in the Philippines, it’s Ramifications in the Local, National and
           Even International Arena.
      U.   Regulating The Oldest Profession: Universalizing the Legalization of
           Prostitution, the Ramifications on the Socio-Politico-Economic-
           Environmental-Cultural Spheres
      V.   To Cha-cha or not to Cha-cha: Constitutional Assembly a must or just a
           political distraction to deter the coming elections.
      W.   Digitizing the Political Franchise: The Road to improving the Election
           process and it’s Digitization.


IV.   Project Outline: After choosing the individual’s/group’s topic please follow
      the following outline: ( for both the written portion and this should also be
      contained in the presentation itself)

1. Introduction of the chosen topic, a brief historical or even
                  introduction of your chosen topic, if need be add the definition of
                  terms, and quoted quotes to further enlighten the reader to your
                  topic. Or a description of the chosen topic, it’s background and
                  definition.
             2.   Apply the Following:
                             • What Method would be applicable to the study?
                             • What branch/area of Political Science would be
                                applicable?
             3.   Show the following factors according to your topical needs/Does
                  it have the following Ramifications (effects) Yes/No then explain
                  why?:
                         • Are there social ramifications?
                         • Are there political ramifications?
                         • Are there economic ramifications?
                         • Are there environmental ramifications?
                         • Are there cultural ramifications?
             4.   What were the disadvantages and advantages given by the
                  event or what are the positive and negative effects of the event
                  to the society local, national and / or international scene/arena?
             5.   Is the Puzzle or event significant in the political evolution or
                  change of the affected people/countries?
             6.   What agency or branch of the government must be involved to
                  administer this event or the agency responsible to solve this
                  political puzzle?
             7.     Any political philosophy theory, ideology, strategy or even
                  methodology used to precipitate the event/puzzle?
             8.   Conclusion: Wherein the opinions/your own analysis of your
                  research is cited and whether do your think is relevant or
                  applicable in the Philippine Setting (if it’s applicable to your
                  study!).

V.   Presentation: You may use any multimedia you want from powerpoint,
     drama/play, video documentary, open forums, and etc. Show how creative
     you can be in the presentation of your report.

             1. What you will SUBMIT:
                       • The WRITTEN REPORT will be computerized any
                               font can be used as long as the minimum font size
                               is 12 or up, should be collated and submitted in a
                               folder (may be made into a scrap book, placed in a
                               clear book, etc.) on or before the deadline.
