These are slides from my talk on Future Management at the University of Applied Sciences Nürtingen-Geislingen.
In order to understand the state-of-the-art area of future management, a questionnaire was administered to CxO’s of 613 midsize companies in the state of Baden Württemberg, Germany to assess their understanding and awareness of the topic, future management, including their willingness to create or implement a future management strategy/process for their company. The study clearly revealed a lack of awareness about future management and its application for midsize companies. 46% of CxO’s found future management to be important although only 7% had a structured future management process in their companies. The study also concluded that midsize companies tend to rely more on proven and shortterm strategies rather than formulate future strategies that might give birth to radical innovations.
