The objective is to learn
about how we live and then
reflect on what we can do to
make our lifestyle more
sustainable. To do this the
students use several ICT
tools such as a Knowledge
Forum, where they post their
findings and questions which
help them build their own
knowledge. They also use
on-line collaborative tools
(Prezi) to present their
findings and video
conference software (VIA)
to share the project results
with other students.

The main contents of the
subject are three:
- Hardware and software,
learning the components of
computers
- Improving the basic skills to
use a personal computer to
work: Document
classification and backups,
large text documents,
spreadsheets, image
manipulation programs,
searching information on the
Internet and organizing it, tools
to make presentations, etc.
- Basic programming with
Scratch

Students develop the skills
and knowledge that will
enable them to enjoy being
active and healthy
throughout their lives,
through opportunities to
participate regularly and
safely in physical activity
and to learn how to develop
and improve their own
personal fitness.
The movement competence
needed to participate in
games, sports and dance,
using the English language
in all the activities

And
Methodology
The objective is to learn
to type correctly and
efficiently helping the
students develop their
keyboard skills.
The students use on-line
software to practice
exercises. They also play
typing games. The class
is entirely conducted in
English.
- Every day the students practice in
class, usually through typing games.
- Students always work with the
keyboard covered by a box they built.
That forces them to concentrate on using
the right fingers for the right keys
without looking at the keyboard.
- Throughout the course 2 new keys are
introduced every week.
- An on-line typing test is taken every
week to check students’ progress.
- At the end of the course students must
achieve a minimum typing speed to
pass the course.

and
Methodology
The objectives are:
- Study the fundamental
contents of Mechanics,
Inorganic Nomenclature, Atom
Structure and Chemical
Bonding.
- Study the scientific
nomenclature of these
contents in English, Catalan
and Spanish
- The subject combines Physics
and Chemistry treated with
mathematical tools and a
broader vision of science.
- The Moodle platform is used to give
documents and activities to the students
and receive their tasks.
- The use of IT technologies
(presentations, internet, etc.) help the
students to follow the subject.
- Each student has a computer. It is used
for theory notes mainly.
- Traditional notebooks are used for
making problems that need graphs and
equations.
- Watching scientific documentaries is a
good tool to popularize other topics that
motivate the students.
- The work in the laboratory is also
important.
- The content and the language are
evaluated 80% and 20% respectively.

and
Methodology
- “Matemàtiques”: 4 of 5 hours
per week are taught in
Catalan. The focus here is the
mathematical content.
- “Mathematics”: 1 of 5 hours
per week are taught in English.
The mathematical content
and the language are
evaluated at 50%.
- Content:
*Statistics & probability
*Numbers, algebra, geometry
and graphs.
- The Moodle platform is used to give
contents and workbook style activities to
the students and receive their tasks.
- Each student has a computer and makes
all the tasks with it.
- The work is designed with students in mind
whose first language is not English. In each
unit the fundamental vocabulary and the
English structures are given to the student.
- In each unit content and workbook style
activities are given.
- Different “talking point” activities appear in
each unit.
