• Created a new business to provide IT service and support to SMEs
• Built up a brand new client base that required an additional technician within 6 months
• Packaged our services so that we had something to sell
• Two years on we needed a second technician
• One year later we employed a third technician
• Changed business model to increase productivity and reduce overheads
• Earthquakes hit Christchurch – busy!
• Packaged a managed services offering and took it to our clients
• Quickserve now autonomous and running without me
7. My Core Strengths?
Networking with people – People like me. What you see is what
you get and people respect that. I’m honest and sincere. I’m
diplomatic and sensitive but I also know how to be assertive.
Communicating effectively – People tell me I’m an outstanding
communicator. That might be a bit of a stretch but I know I
communicate very well. My interpersonal skills are second to
none and I am comfortable with people from all walks of life.
Entrepreneurial – I founded and built a business that now runs
without me. It’s a small business but the principles are the
same. I believe I have what it takes to help a business grow.
Technical – I’m a technician by trade. I’ve been involved in
implementing technology for 15 years. I know how to listen to
the customer and differentiate between what they think they
need and what is appropriate. I find solutions.
