2. Key duties/responsibilities for quality director
1. Responsible for empowering a team culture including development and
implementation of the facility High Performance Team initiatives.
2. Responsible for all site Quality decisions as they pertain to FDA compliance
issues, including the release or rejection of all products made in the facility.
3. Develop and constantly improve, through creative thinking, the quality processes
and procedures employed during the development and commercialization of
brands.
4. Lead site risk management process and ensure good root cause and mitigation
strategies are in place.
5. Direct all Quality related functions for the manufacturing facility including
validation and approval authority for the release of product to commercial.
6. Provide expertise in critical quality areas, such as chemistry, microbiology,
packaging, and regulatory and validation.
7. Ensure regulatory compliance of the facility and is the primary contact with
regulatory agencies.
8. Identify, develop and implement new technologies and facility-wide process
improvements.
9. Identify key metrics that reflect good Quality control and management and
implement performance management to improve and control.
3. Key job qualifications for quality director
1. BS from an acclaimed university or equivalent
2. 7-10 years experience in managing Quality Control/Assurance program in a
manufacturing environment
3. Knowledge and familiarity with ISO9001:2008, SPC, PES
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
5. Demonstrated hands-on, participative problem-solving style
