Based on our experience we will tell you about the lessons we learned the hard way.
How we managed to lead projects in an agile way, where we had to deal with fixed budgets, waterfallish requirements and procedures.

Why such title of the presentation \n Return from Boston\n Starbucks\n Nike Store\n KNEW it would be for something GREAT\n
About anixe\n50 developers\nStriving to get better every day\n14 years in travel and tourism\nOnly own financing and capital from the start\n
PZ: A big challenge – a once in a lifetime opportunity\nThe kind of company looks for an IT provider once in a decade\nThey needed exactly what we are doing - which is an interface to multiple hotel suppliers from all over the world\nThis could make us famous in the industry and open doors for other companies\n
KP: all about FTI\nthey work with a provider\nit is a swiss company\ntender is closed\nthey have already made a decision\nwe are small\nwe are from Poland\n\n
The Attempt\nwe take the risk\nwe prepare for TWO weeks\nall scenarios, all questions\nall the details\nalways be one step ahead\n
…and they arrived\nThere were 3 persons \nGeorgia\nHeike - She was responsible \nBoris - The Boss. Project, which we will develop is the vision if his. Hi also will decide, who will do the project.\nWe had only 4 hours to impress them, time was crucial and we has to exploit every minute of it\nWe have everything planned. \nFirst the tour in our office. The team room with boards, charts and the last retrospective decisions. \nWe have very shortly (because we didn’t enough time) introduce them the scrum idea, the brightness sides of the methodology and of course, what they can win with this approach. \nBoris was impressed, he want to introduce some of the technics in his company\nSecond – very important – delicious polish pierogi\n
We have won!\nAfter few days they announce the results of the tender. There were 8 companies form different states and WE WON \nWe thought that this was the over, but we were sooo wrong\n
The contact struggle \n
We have to come up with an idea\nWe knew that they want to introduce the product to the market as soon as possible.\nWe knew the people, which define the product – we have the exact information, how the product should look like \nOur new brilliant idea was that we drag the contact negotiations until we do not develop the skeleton of the product.\nAfter about month of the development we have invited Boris Heike and Georgia to our user demo. We introduce them our already working solution with the curtail functionalities… they were shocked. They could believe, that we done the most difficult job already and we ask them if we can skip the requirement in the agreement, they couldn’t say no… ?\nWhat was for us even more important we won their trust. \nOur work now based on the sprint orders and everyone is happy\n
Courage\n
Common Understanding\nEverybody from early on together = the lean mantra\n
