I was trained as an architect and industrial designer in
Denmark and the Netherlands. I’ve always worked
within furniture and lighting design.

We reached out to Symplr because their approach to
design is not confined by what architecture or retail
stores should be in a traditional sense. By working with
them we learned a lot about how we could express
ourselves in a physical environment.
The team of Symplr came to Bali and I showed them
around and showed them how we do things. We went
hiking. Which was kind of strenuous. But it was
important to communicate where we are coming from.
So they came up with this carving technique that they
are very good at. And we picked a material that would
be great for us. The most interesting aspect for me was:
three walls that look V-shaped from a bird’s eye view.

Keeping always simple
The organic shapes are born from the
creative hands-on process that is the
foundation of my work. I handcraft all
pieces and then sculpt them to hug the
body. My current collection is more a
reflection of my vision at this moment in
time.

in many ways. If you decide to put a
person, we call it a personal brand.

The next stage of branding is to set
the identity of your brand or what
kind of brand you would like to be.
#4 Identity is not image
While building up your brand, it’s
good to plan all visuals carefully. After
all, it’s the thing that start branding.
#5 Consistent identification
Having defined needs, you may want
to take a look at where your product
has been and where you want it to go.

visual identiy. It’s about time to start

  • 29. We reached out to Symplr because their approach to design is not confined by what architecture or retail stores should be in a traditional sense. By working with them we learned a lot about how we could express ourselves in a physical environment. The team of Symplr came to Bali and I showed them around and showed them how we do things. We went hiking. Which was kind of strenuous. But it was important to communicate where we are coming from. So they came up with this carving technique that they are very good at. And we picked a material that would be great for us. The most interesting aspect for me was: three walls that look V-shaped from a bird’s eye view.   • 30. Malleable Materials Keeping always simple The organic shapes are born from the creative hands-on process that is the foundation of my work. I handcraft all pieces and then sculpt them to hug the body. My current collection is more a reflection of my vision at this moment in time.
