ago in a road
accident. He was
only 21 years
old…..
Pavel Karelin was
born in April , 1990
in Gorky (Nizhny
Novgorod).
3. He debuted in the World Cup in a season-2007/2008.
He said: “I carried out 79 starts, 13 - in team tournaments.
I became the owner of three prize-winning places - the two second
(team competitions, 2009, and personal tournament in K-120, 2011)
and the one third (in team competitions, 2009). The best place in the
general offset – the 23rd (2010/2011).”
4. “In 2010 I participated in Olympic Games in Vancouver, I participated in three
striations. Here I took the 10th place in team competitions and the 33rd – in personal
superiority on K-90 springboard.
I participated in two World Cups in 2009 and in 2011. I took the ninth place in team
(2009, 2011) and the 17th place in individual superiority on K-120 (2011) springboard.”
7. Ski jumping is not so popular in Russia as
other winter sports but there are talented
sportsmen. Among them was Pavel
Karelin, an athlete from my native city,
Nizhny Novgorod. I am really proud of this
fact.
I hope in Sochi-2014 there will be Russian
medalists in ski jumping.
