5. El síndrome takotsubo es una insuficiencia cardíaca
aguda y suele ser reversible
El síndrome fue descrito por primera vez en 1990 que se
reconoce cada vez más.
Cada vez tiene mas reconocimiento gracias al acceso de la
coronariografía emergente en paciente con dolor torácico.
Desde su descripción cada ve se desliga mas del síndrome
coronario agudo.

Presentan activación súbita edl sistema nervioso
simpático o un aumento precipitado de catecolaminas.
Su manejo no solo debería centrar en el síndrome de
takotsubo.
Especial atenión a factor desencadenante un síndrome
Takotsubo agudo como una complicación de la primaria.
16. Varias series asiáticas y occidentales
(predominantemente de raza caucásica) sugieren que el
1-2% de los pacientes con sospecha de SCA son
finalmente diagnósticados con síndrome Takotsubo.
Aproximadamente 50 000-100 000 casos/año en los
EE.UU, con números estimados similares en Europa.
90% mujeres mayores posmenopáusicas (66-80 años de
edad).
