“Hanna, let’s go, we’re going to be late,” Aria breathed, clearly annoyed
at how long Hannah was taking to leave. It was already 8:00 a.m., and they
needed to be there at 8:15 a.m.
“Calm down, I’m almost ready,” Hanna exclaimed as she twisted a strand
of her perfect blonde hair around her finger. She examined her hair for any
possible split ends.
“It’s not every day that you attend one of your best friend’s funerals,” Aria
mumbled quietly.
“Will you stop bringing it up?” Hanna snapped, “I don’t want to think
about it, I just want to get this thing over with.”
“We can’t just ignore what happened, Hanna,” Aria told her, as she
looked down at her wrist to observe a beaded bracelet with the letters of her
name written across it. She quickly took a peek at Hanna’s wrist to discover the
same bracelet hung around her wrist.
The room was deadly silent, as Hanna slipped on her last season Gucci
nude platform pumps. She double checked her Mac dazzle glass lip gloss in the
mirror, to see the shadow of a familiar figure.
“Emily, is that you?” Hanna said, as she flipped around the corner, her
heel making a loud click on the light, hardwood floor.
“What are you talking about Hanna?” Aria asked, full of curiosity, “Emily is
dead.”
“No, I saw Emily’s reflection in the mirror, standing inside my kitchen!”
Hannah exclaimed, trying to escape over the kitchen to make sure she wasn’t
going crazy.
“I think it’s time to go,” Aria told Hanna, pulling her towards the door and
to her silver Mercedes.
“I know what I saw,” Hanna huffed as she climbed into the front seat, her
mind still blown from the sight.
“Whatever, Spencer is meeting us there, we have to hurry,” Aria
answered, gripping her hands on the leather wheel.
