This literary work truly shows how Anne Frank was a martyr of racism and an insightful chronicler
of her time period and place. The work also shows the typical adolescence of Anne
Frank and her constant arguments with her mother in particular. It also deals with the day to day
hiding she and her family went through. The only problem with the book is that the fact that Anne
Frank rewrote her diary about two months before she was captured because she wanted her
journal to be published after the war and she wanted to peruse a career in journalism. Therefore it
is hard to tell what existed in her original copy and how much did she add afterwards. This tells us
that we will never know how much knowledge Anne Frank possessed. It is not the information that
should be questioned, but the chronology. Anne Frank's diary is an invaluable historical account.

Anne wasn't able to speak to her friends, go to the cinema/theatre, go shopping, use a telephone or

The only thing she had to do was study and write in her diary. She never goes outside and always
has to worry about if their ever going to be discovered and killed. The Frank Family wasn't the only
ones that went into hiding in the "Secret Annexe", also the Van Daans and Mr. Dussel, making a
total number of eight. Their survival in the "Secret Annexe" was dependent on their helpers who
brought them food, news from the outside, and books.

The Holocaust was one of history's most tragic events to occur. Millions upon millions of Jews
lost their lives at the hands of people who did not want them there any longer. One of the Jews
whom died, Anne Frank, said that " In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at
heart." Even though she and her family and friends were forced to go through such terrible
things, she was still able to look past them all, and see the positive outcome in everything. Anne
Frank was one of history's best models for optimism, and as for myself, I agree with her quote.

for this. However, I know there is another side to this argument, so I can see how someone might

Sometimes, the Nazis would even kill Jews out of the streets. For this reason, many Jews went into
hiding like the Frank family did. When the Franks first went into hiding, Anne didn 't even know
what was going on. She thought that going into hiding was just going to be another fun

affected me in some ways. Watching the movie and reading the play has made me find out who
Anne is as a person and after everything I saw/read I think that she is a good person. I believe that
it's important for people to know about Anne Frank so that they know what people went through
and how they were treated just because they were Jewish. Anne Frank's diary has taught me some
lessons and it shows us the intolerance that was going on in WWII. After reading the play there
were lessons that I learned and it also changed the way I think. For example, now I will think twice
before judging anyone on their differences of beliefs.
