If I would have to describe College English in two words they would be time–consuming. After I had
concord my first paper the concept essay I thought I was at the top of the world. Until we quickly
got the next assignment, the opposing viewpoints essay. My world has tumbled back down to earth
as I got to work. I chose global warming because I thought it was a topic that many don't know
about, but it affects everyone in the world. Once again, I made a readable plan to pick the two
sides of my debate on global warming, after made an outline that would convey the two sides of the
debate on global warming. Once, I had a stable outline I began to research and take notes on the
information. Then, when I had acquired the information I found suitable for my paper I finally started
writing a rough draft. Next, when done with my rough draft we had partners to do the revision.
Through the many hardships, I had to face such as rewriting multiple rough drafts, plenty
corrections that needed to be made, and the long sleepless nights I would accomplish my college
English paper again. There are still many stages of the process that were challenging. In short, I have
learned a great amount, about global warming and about writing college–level papers.
The readable plan was to give an equal balance to both sides allowing for fair arguments and
non–bias statements by my own accord. I had found out that choosing what subtopics I want to

Our planet's atmosphere traps energy just like a greenhouse. Energy from the Sun can enter the
Earth's atmosphere, but not all of it can easily find its way out again.

On days when it was too hot for the kids to go out their parents would tell them to stay inside the
house. When the kids have to stay inside the house the parents usually want it to stay quiet. So

It is also thought to be possible that the movement of continents changed the temperature of the land,

part in atmospheric changes. More recently, however, humans have had a much greater effect on the

The main basis of the movie, though, is supposed to be global warming, but the writers have
added some absolutely incorrect "facts." Some of the "facts" include the idea that mass global

(Scholmeyer 261). In The Day After Tomorrow, the director, Mr. Emmerich, is clearly trying to
make a political statement, but not sticking strictly to the facts. In The Day After Tomorrow, there
are some scenes that make me proud, and others that make me incredulous. In the movie, the

In the first day of English 101 Climate Change and Multimedia class, Professor Sheila Tefft
assigned the class to write a self–reflection about our perspective on writing. I wrote that I use
recursive strategy, which is writing in the order of a thesis statement, topic sentences, evidence,
analysis, and conclusion. Knowing this approach, I thought I would be successful. However, I
encountered more challenges in this class than a success.
I encountered a challenge in the first major assignment, which was writing a research paper after
reading Mark Lynas' Six Degrees. In this research paper, we had to address our opinion on one
environmental issue, and I asked myself whether vertical farming could be a potential solution to
stopping deforestation in Brazil. The objective of this writing, according to the syllabus, was to
learn how to "summarize, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate the ideas of others as we [you]
undertake a scholarly inquiry to produce our [your] own arguments." I exactly followed this step. I
first did a general research on vertical farming and deforestation in Brazil, analyzed the information,
synthesized the main argument, and delivered my thought to my audience, who are general public
and proponents believing vertical farming is the future of agriculture.

Many scientific methods of controlling or lowering the Earth's temperature are being researched;
these can also be called geoengineering. Geoengineering is a method in which scientists can
change the levels of greenhouse gases directly or indirectly. Also there could be methods that
prevent greenhouse gasses to be emitted. There have never been any geoengineering solutions
done on a global scale since it has to be almost proof less. But there have been some ideas that are
being use on a small scale like the iron fertilization; this is a process in which iron is injected into
the oceans to speed up the reproduction of plankton which breath carbon dioxide and emit oxygen,
this is one solution that seems to have the least side effects thanks to the reason I just presented
and also due to that plankton are the base of many marine animals food chain. So this method is
being widely researched to see if it can be done on a global scale. Not only is lowering the levels of
gases in the air important, but also lowering the level of gases we emit, and there have been many
scientific breakthroughs like solar energy or cars that run

Global Warming, aside from pollution is one of scientists biggest concerns. Global Warming is
caused by the Greenhouse effect. There are 4 steps in the Greenhouse effect process. The first is,
sunlight radiates from the sun, through space, to the Earth's atmosphere. The second is, sunlight
enters the atmosphere and hits the Earth. Some of that sunlight turns into heat energy in the form of
infrared light. Surrounding air and land, which in turn makes the heat warm, absorbs the heat. Third,
the greenhouse gases trap infrared rays that is remitted into the atmosphere. Finally, the gas then
absorbs the light and is remitted back to the Earth's surface and warms it even more. Another cause

Another event that would occur from global warming is the drastic rise in sea level. As the Earth
warms up, the polar ice caps will start to melt. This would put immense amounts of water into the
Earth's oceans. All cities along all the coasts would be flooded from the rise in sea level. This
would cause people to move inland, and with more people inland, it would cause a shortage of
space in some areas. With the coastal cities under water, this would cause a great economic strain on
the rest of the cities throughout the world. Global Warming would also cause extreme weather.

international action and broaden the participation from people around the world.

even exist. Some people claim that the climate is changing for the worse. They believe that humans
are the primary cause of these changes, especially the increase in temperature, caused by the burning
