OUR TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE CONTINUES
The state of Michigan is moving toward online
assessments, such as the MEAP and ACT.
Some online assessments of the MEAP and MME will be
administered during the 2014-15 school year.
ALL paper testing will be completely eliminated by
2017-18.

In a University of Southern Maine study, within five years
of implementing a 1:1 program found:
• Percentage of students meeting Maine’s writing proficiency
standard nearly doubled when laptops were used for writing
drafts and final copy.
• 80% of students using 1 to 1 reported an increased editing
and self-correcting of their work.
• More than 80% of teachers reported their students' writing
had improved. Writing scores improved regardless of
whether the writing assessments were administered online
or with pencil and paper.
