Statistics of Disorders & Disabilities In 2003, The Pocono Equestrian Center was born to help the children, youth and horses. Just like the families this nonprofit 501(c)(3) has been thrown aside like what we do doesn’t matter. We are fighting back and plan to continue to grow and offer more than any other organization in any country. Everyone now knows that in the USA there are 1-150 children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Our children and youth usually not only have a diagnosis of a disorder from the Autistic spectrum but it usually is combined with other disorders it could be mental, physical, or emotional. A study done in 2003 showed school aged children k-12 in 7 counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania alone over 70,000 had a diagnosis of some kind of disability. Families are being bled for therapies for their children and youth to help them grow to be strong , happy and self sufficient as possible as they are getting older.
