3. What is cancer?
 It is collection of related diseases where some of the body’s cells
begin to divide without stopping and spread into surrounding
tissues.
 It can start anywhere in human body.
 Human cells grow and divide to form new cells as the body needs
them. Cells grow old, they die, and new cells take their place.
 This process breaks down when cancer develops in body.
 Many cancers form solid tumors, except blood cancers like
leukaemia.

 Tumors of cancers are malignant i.e. they can spread into, or invade,
