Cancer is an abnormal growth of cells that can spread to other parts of the body. There are over 100 types of cancer that can develop in different parts of the body like the breast, skin, lungs, colon, prostate, and lymphatic system. Symptoms vary depending on the type and location of the cancer. Some common causes of cancer are tobacco use, diet, obesity, infections, radiation, and environmental pollutants. While some cancers are hereditary, most are caused by environmental factors. Homeopathy looks to treat the whole person and provides customized, natural remedies to help relax, cope with stress, and support the body's healing in cancer.

3. What is cancer?
ï” It is collection of related diseases where some of the bodyâs cells
begin to divide without stopping and spread into surrounding
tissues.
ï” It can start anywhere in human body.
ï” Human cells grow and divide to form new cells as the body needs
them. Cells grow old, they die, and new cells take their place.
ï” This process breaks down when cancer develops in body.
ï” Many cancers form solid tumors, except blood cancers like
leukaemia.
5. What is Cancer?
ï” Tumors of cancers are malignant i.e. they can spread into, or invade,
nearby tissues.
ï” As these tumors grow, some cancer cells can break off and travel to
distant places in the body through the blood or the lymph system
and form new tumors far from the original tumor.
ï” Benign tumors do not spread into nearby tissues. It can be
sometimes quite large.
ï” When removed, they usually donât grow back, whereas malignant
tumors sometimes do.
ï” Benign brain tumors can be life threatening.
6. Signs and symptoms
ï” When cancer begins, it invariably produces no symptoms.
ï” Signs and symptoms only appear as the mass continues to grow or
ulcerates.
ï” The findings that result depend on the type and location of the
cancer.
ï” Few symptoms are specific, with many of them also frequently
occurring in individuals who have other conditions.
ï” Cancer is the new "great imitator". Thus, it is not uncommon for
people diagnosed with cancer to have been treated for other
diseases, which were assumed to be causing their symptoms.
7. Causes
ï” The great majority of cancers, some 90â95% of cases, are due to
environmental factors.
ï” The remaining 5â10% are due to inherited genetics.
ï” Environmental, as used by cancer researchers, means any cause that
is not inherited genetically, such as lifestyle, economic and
behavioural factors, and not merely pollution.
8. Environmental Causes
Common environmental factors that contribute to cancer death include
:
ï Tobacco (25â30%),
ï Diet and obesity (30â35%),
ï Infections (15â20%),
ï Radiation (both ionizing and non-ionizing) up to 10%,
Other Causes are :
ï Stress,
ï Lack of physical activity, and
ï Environmental pollutants.
