A proposal for an audacious series of concerts along the lines of Live Aid to help banish Cancer
David Bowie's death has sadly brought cancer to the world's attention once again. We intend to bring together world leaders, businesses and world-class musicians to stage a benefit project across 2016 for Cancer Prevention, Awareness and Research. This global phenomenon has the ambition to unite the world with cures, early diagnosis and improved care for these terrible diseases.
Starting in a small market town in Wiltshire, we propose a large programme of events around the globe with a finale around World Cancer Day in 2017 along similar lines to Live Aid. We will use modern technology to reach the entire world, allowing every citizen to experience these events through monetised video streaming. This global act of humanitarian kindness will cast a long shadow on those that seek to divide the world and provide a humanistic legacy for those that lead, participate and sponsor the project.
The project differs from existing approaches through its distributed nature (1000 concerts around the world) and its intention to actually raise money for the causes rather than simply another concert series.
