2. Genano® - Professional Air Decontamination Technology
Genano technology® superior capabilities are based
on patented method for purification, which removes
all particles. Genano Air Purifiers remove down to
nanometre size particles from indoor air, unmatched
by any other air purifying technology. Several
medical studies have now established that the ultra
fine particles are the most hazardous for human
health.
Genano Technology® kills microbes (viruses, bacte-ria,
moulds and yeast, etc.) unlike competitive HEPA-filter
which collects pathogens and in the presence
of heat and moisture may reactivate pathogens and
pose a greater problem by releasing microbialtoxins.
Genano Air Purifiers are equipped with an effective
active carbon absorber removing VOCs, fumes and
odours. Devices with filter technologies are
penalized to use such systems because of increase
pressure drop from additional filtering mechanism.
Genano technology cleans the air in free air flow,
so the air volume and the purification level are
constant at all times. Genano Air Purifiers do not get
clogged up by large amounts of particles as is the
case with HEPA-filters, so no exchange of expensive
filters is required.

Genano technology® advantages:
Captures all particle sizes,
it is effective for down
to nanometre sized particles
(1 nm = one millionth of a millimetre)
It eliminates and kills organic particles
such as bacteria and viruses
Eliminates gases and odours
Economical solution
(no filter change, durable,
low maintenance costs)

3. Products
Genano® air purifiers can be used for specific areas where it is necessary to remove impurities
which have come to existence inside the area or which have entered it through a ventilation
system. Genano units can also be equipped with positive or negative pressure adaptor kits in
order to create cleanrooms or isolation rooms.
Genano® purifiers come in different models that can be integrated into existing air
ventilation ducts or installed as an independent unit (ceiling-wall-mobile).

4. Medical and labs
Genano Medical Air Decontamination units
(mobile or with positive/negative pressure assembly kit) can be used in:
Labs, hospitals, medical centers, private clinics, general practioners, pharmacies,
cleanrooms, isolation wards, ICU, OR, haematology, oncology, waiting areas, burns unit,
transplant, neonatology, treatment rooms, COPD, asthma, patient rooms, hospital labs,
diagnostic labs, recovery rooms, bronchoscopy, BMT etc.
Protection of immunocompromised Patients, staff, visitors
Preventing airborne infections: MRSA, C-DIFF, MERS, SARS, TB, nosocomial germs
Preventing product cross contamination
Examples: isolation rooms (negative pressure) and protecting the patient/production (positive pressure).

LABORATORIES
Genano is useful in laboratories for
several different applications:
To create very effective and cost efficient ISO 5/6/7
cleanroom levels compared to existing HEPA solution
To protect the laboratory staff and production of molecular
particles from nanometre size aerosol pollution
To protect the production from cross contamination
To purify the air before it`s access to the enzyme production
process in a molecular biological company which is working
in biological enzyme development
To purify both R&D and production laboratories, where the assay contamination is minimized
To purify the PCR amplicons, bacteria and viruses from the air
To keep the HEPA filters clean in the enzyme packing machines
To save money by avoiding expensive HEPA filter changes

Fertility Lab. University Hospital Leuven and
Imelda Ziekenhuis Hospital in Belgium
According to European directives, laboratories dealing with human tissue should have an air
quality based on a class D cleanroom according to GMP. The Hospitals have equipped their
Fertility Labs with Genano units, making sure the air quality is complying with regulation and
creating a positive pressure in the laboratory. This resulted in a permanent air quality,
comparable with an ISO 7 cleanroom.

Research
Microbial elimination
Microbial elimination is verified in several laboratory studies.
Study conducted by Metropolilab different microbial species were
introduced to the Genano air purification device. A filter cloth was
installed on the top of the machine to collect any microbes that
might come through. After the contamination test the collector
chamber was cleaned and the microbial samples were taken
from the washing liquid and from the filter cloth. None of the
samples showed any trace of any viable microbes.
Different microbial removal ability tests of the air have been
studied in several internationally recognised laboratories e.g.
Karol Marcinkowski University of Medical Sciences in Poland,
LNE France and The University of Greifswald in Germany.
Nano-sized particle removal
Nano-sized particle removal has been tested in Finland by the
Institute of Occupational Health. The test result of the filtering
efficiency of the device was extremely high for all tested particle
size classes. Even for the Nano-sized particles.
The particle measurements have been made in Finland, by VTT.
(Technical Research Centre of Finland) VTT has also examined
the DNA fragments removal ability from the air.
Efficient removal of gases
Gas extraction ability were studied by several customer
sites e.g. SUERC (The Scottish Universities Environmental
Research Centre) laboratory where the indoor air VOC value
decreased significantly.
Effective gas removal is based on the operation
of the designed active carbon filter of the device.
The active carbon is capable of removing a wide
range of harmful gases.
