This document provides an overview of employment in Canada and Ontario in December 2018. It discusses how middle class job growth is being led by government jobs and cites statistics on employment and participation rates from Statistics Canada. The document also lists the top 15 careers for 2019 and beyond according to one source, and the top universities in Canada for employability according to Times Higher Education. It concludes with comments on the need to reduce regulations, encourage jobs in IT and trades, reform policies to attract talent and foreign investment, and better align immigration with skill gaps.

outlook-2019-and-beyond
Here is the truth:
1. Trudeau's policies are leading to a brain drain
2. Trudeau never had the balance right between the
economy and the environment
3. Trudeau has done little to build export capacity. For
each $1B of exports there are 5,500 jobs
14. What’s is next
› Canada needs to find ways to reduced regulations.
Canadian businesses are struggling with excessive
regulation. C69 needs to either be re-written or scrapped
› IT jobs and Trades are in demand. More needs to be
done to encourage people to go into those fields
› Canada needs to reformed its policies to ensure Canada
is competitive when it comes to attracting brain power
and FDI
› Immigration needs to be aligned with skill gaps.
