1. I AM THE ALPHA
& OMEGA
Pastor Chuck Bernal
March 26, 2017
The Lord says, I am
Alpha and Omega, the one who is and was and is coming. I am God All-Powerful! . . . Write
downwhat I havesaid. My words aretrueand can be trusted. Everything is finished! I am Alpha
and Omega, the beginning and the end…
I am coming soon! And when I come, I will reward everyone for what they have done. I am
Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. (Revelation 1:8 , 21:6,
22:12-13 – CEV)
The first letter in the Greek alphabet is Alpha and it makes the very same sound as our
letter “A.” Omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet. All of the ancient Greek
knowledge is contained within that alphabet, just as it is with our English alphabet
where all knowledge is contained within A to Z. If you have a dictionary or an
encyclopedia, think about the fact that all of our knowledge is basically found within
these pages, beginning with the letter A all to the way to Z. Because Jesus is the Alpha
and Omega, He is the beginning of all things and the end of all things. He is everything,
A to Z and all things in between. He is the consummation of the entire Greek Alphabet
meaning that He is all and in all and Creator of all.
JESUS IS THE ALPHA & OMEGA FOR MY ETERNITY
Before anything else existed, there was Christ, with God. He has always been alive and is
himself God. He created everything there is—nothing exists that he didn’t make. (John 1:1-3 –
LB)
Christ is the exact likeness of the unseenGod. He existed before God made anything at all, and,
infact, Christ himself is the Creator who made everything, the things we can see and thethings
wecan’t . . . all were made by Christ for his ownuse and glory. Hewas beforeall else began and
it is his power that holds everything together. He is the Head of the body made up of his
people—that is, his Church—which he began; and the first to come back to lifeso that heis first
ineverything.
(Colossians 1:15-18 – LB)
Melchizedek was without a father or mother or any family. He had no beginning of lifeor end of
life. He is forever like the Sonof God. (Hebrews 7:3 – NLV)
Jesus Christ is thesame yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8 – LB)

JESUS IS THE ALPHA & OMEGA FOR MY SALVATION
When the right time arrived, God sent His Soninto this world
to be bornof a woman. (Galatians 4:4 – Voice)
The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood . . . John pointed him out
and called, “This is the One! The One I told you was coming after me but in fact was ahead of
me. He has always been ahead of me, has always had the first word.” (John1:14-15 - Msg)
Long ago . . . God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to
us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the
world. Heis the radiance of theglory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and heupholds
the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the
right hand of the Majesty onhigh.
(Hebrews 1:1-3 – ESV)
2. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him
endured thecross, despising the shame, and is set downat the right hand of thethrone of God.
(Hebrews 12:2 – BRG Bible)
I finished the work you gave me to do. I brought you glory on earth . . . Jesus said, “It is
finished!” Then he bowed his head and died. (John 17:4, 19:30 – ICB/GWT)
His works havebeen finished sincethe foundationof the world. (Hebrew 4:3 – HCSB)
Oursalvation began in the _________________ and ended on the _________________
We believe that the very beginning and end of salvation, and the sum of Christianity,
consists of faith in Christ, who by His blood alone, and not by any works of ours, has put
away sin, and destroyed the power of death. (Martin Luther)
JESUS IS THE ALPHA & OMEGA FOR MY LIFE
Do not despisethis small beginning, for the eyes of the Lord
rejoiceto see the workbegin . . . (Zechariah 4:10 – LB)
And even if your beginning was small, your end will bevery great. (Job 8:7 – NLV)
Thinkabout this. Wrap your minds around it. Take it to heart. Remember your history, your long
and rich history. I am GOD, the only God you’ve had or ever will have — incomparable,
irreplaceable. From the very beginning telling you what the ending will be, all along letting you
inon what is going to happen, assuring you, “I’m in this for the long haul, I’ll do exactly what I
set out to do”. I’ve said it, and I’ll most certainly do it. I’ve planned it, so it’s as good as done.
(Isaiah 46:8-9 – Msg)
Jesus gives you the beginning (ALPHA) you need
that will take you to the ending (OMEGA) He has planned foryou.
Before I shaped you inthe womb, I knew all about you.
Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you. (Jeremiah 1:5 – Msg)
