You wouldn’t be searching if you already had all of the answers. Uncertainty and uneasiness is natural.
Now go out and prove your thesis by finding facts to back up your statement. This is where the real research begins.
My goal is to prepare our students for college level research and make the process a little bit easier for them.
Almost 800,000,000 results
Currency is good… but should not be the only criteria for assessing credibility.Students in this sample used a lot of “self-taught” methods: interface design/familiarity
credibility
Let’s create familiarity with OTHER websites.
Let’s make a policy that we don’t accept Wikipedia as a citation on anything.

Satire
This is from the online version of the Atlantic magazine… John Fleming, US Representative from Louisiana thought an Onion article was real and announced it on Facebook
I like the comment by D “The Onion is satire. How exactly did you get elected?”
If you hear of something or read something too good to be true, check it on Snopes.
Utilize databases to support our students on research. At college they may have access to 100 databases from their libraries… we seriously have six. Although Ebsco is actually a search engine filled with many more databases…
Before I forget.. This is how we access these resources from home.
This is page 1 of the database list from Ebsco… “Academic Search Premier”
“Professional Development Collection” “Business News” and “GreenFILE” – all environmental information.
The HTML versions have some cool features: often indexed to specific contents- but they also have a “Listen” toolbar
Some articles are available as PDF… nice
Any article comes with this “tools menu” which includes “Cite”

Using primary material in your work not only adds credibility to your argument, but it demonstrates that you are an expert researcher.Primary sources are a big part of the common core, too.
The national archives has some amazing resources

It’s a big problem in Bollywood right now… there are tons of articles.
No more zeros. Let’s make sure that we continue to deal with issues as classroom teachers, but report each instance to the administration (for tracking). No exceptions.
