This document provides an overview of CCTV (closed-circuit television) systems, including the different types of CCTV cameras, their benefits, and how they work. It discusses wired and wireless CCTV systems and describes various camera types - indoor, outdoor, IR day/night, dome, pan tilt zoom, bullet, vandal proof, hidden, network/IP, wireless, and high-definition cameras - and their typical uses. The document aims to explain CCTV systems and cameras for security and surveillance purposes.

3. What is CCTV System?
CCTV System is a system in which signals are not
publicly distributed but are monitored primarily for
surveillance and security purpose.
4. CCTV System Types
CCTV System are broadly divided into two types . These are
1. Wired CCTV System
2. Wireless CCTV System
5. CCTV Camera Benefits
CCTV is commonly used for a variety of purpose, including:
Maintaining perimeter security in medium-to high-secure areas and installations
Observing behavior of incarcerated inmates and potentially dangerous patients in medical facilities.
Traffic monitoring
Building and ground security
Overseeing location that would be hazardous to a human.
6. CCTV Camera Types
CCTV cameras are being installed every where for purpose of security and prevention and
detection. There are many type if CCTV cameras are available for this purpose.
These are :
Indoor Camera Bullet Camera
Outdoor Camera Vandal proof Camera
IR day/ Night Camera Hidden Camera
Dome Camera Pen Tilt Zoom Camera
7. Indoor Camera
Indoor camera as its name suggests used for indoor security
mechanism. These are suitable for security in homes, schools,
offices, hotels etc…..
Outdoor Camera
Outdoor camera is used for outdoor places. They are mostly
used for entry and exist points with limited night lighting.
These camera have hard Shell vandal-proof casings.
8. IR day/Night Camera
IR day/Night cameras are used for high alert security areas were
surveillance needs to happened day and night. These cameras are used
by military in parking lost and high security zones.
Dome Camera
Camera are installed inside a dark dome and design in a way that they go
unnoticed by visitor . These cameras can be rotated and tilted .
Manually. Dome cameras are used in public place like railway station, bus
terminals, and other areas where there is a huge gathering of people.
9. Pan Tilt Zoom
A pan tilt zoom camera is a camera that is capable of remote directional and
zoom control.
In television production. PTZ controls are used with professional video cameras
in television studios. Sporting events and other spaces.
They are commonly referred to as robos, on abbreviation of robotic camera.
These system can be remotely controlled by automation system. These type of
CCTV cameras allow a person centralling the surveillance at an area to
monitoring it to moving the camera from right to left (pan) up and down(tilt)
and from and tight. Angle to a wide angle (Close up zoom).
10. Bullet Cameras
Cylindrical
Tapered shape
Similar to that of a “rifle bullet”
Outdoor use installed inside protective casings which
protect against dust, dirt, rain, hail and other harmful
elements.
Require long distance viewing
Fixed or varifocal lenses.
11. Vandal Proof Camera
Vandal domes are also weatherproof so that they can be used for indoor or
outdoor video surveillance. Vandal-proof dome cameras generally have a
solid metal base and vandal resistant poly-carbonate plastic cover.
These cameras are typically used in areas that may be prone to vandalism or
tampering.
12. Hidden Camera
A hidden camera or spy camera or security camera is a still or video
camera used to record people without their knowledge. The term “hidden
camera” is commonly used in reality TV shows, sometimes when subjects
are unaware that they are being recorded, and sometimes with their
knowledge and consent. The term “spy camera” is generally used when
the subject would
normally be expected to object to being recorded as an invasion of their
privacy.
13. Network / IP CCTV Camera
These cameras both hard wired and wireless, transmit
image over the Internet often compressing the band
width so as not to over whelm the web.
IP cameras are easier to install than analog cameras
because they do not require a separate cable run or
power boost to sent images over a longer distance.
14. Wireless CCTV Cameras
Not all wireless cameras are IP-based
Some wireless cameras can use a hernative modes of
wireless transmission But no matter what the
transmission method, the primary benefit to these units
is still the same extreme flexibility installation.
15. High- Definition HD CCTV
Ultra high- definition camera are often relegated to niche markets such as
easinos and banks.
These give the operators the ability to zoom in with extreme charity.
